Thank you to the residents who have contacted me regarding an ongoing power cut in the DN16 area of Scunthorpe, which is currently affecting approximately 2,970 houses.
I have also received reports of traffic lights out of service, so please take care if you are driving through this area.
If you are concerned that your home may be affected, you can search your Post Code via Northern Powergrid's Power Cut map at the link below.
They hope to have power restored by approximately 4:30PM, however this is subject to successful repair work to damaged gas mains and underground electric cables.
My office have spoken directly with Northern Powergrid this afternoon. Once they have successfully restored power, I will be requesting a meeting with Northern Powergrid's Chief Executive.
There have been multiple power cuts across the Scunthorpe constituency this week, and residents deserve to know what steps Northern Powergrid are taking to prevent further unplanned outages.
