Following constituents raising concerns about freight rates on the Northern Isles Ferry Service, I have written to the Minister for Agriculture and Connectivity, asking him for his response that rising freight rates on the ferry service are a threat to some island-based businesses.

It was great to be out in Bressay this week speaking to folk and we enjoyed a coffee break at Speldiburn Cafe. We will definitely be back though as we have plenty more doors to knock! 🚪🔶️

Wow! 🤩 It’s not often you accidentally bump into a Commonwealth medallist! What a delight to chat about the joys of cycling and our favourite local paths with Scottish legend Brian Temple, who won a silver medal on the Meadowbank track back in 1970! This is exactly why I love being out and about in the ward.

We have some excellent Scottish Liberal Democrat Women standing for election this May. Cllr Sanne Dijkstra-Downie, Lib Dem councillor for Forth had a great group out in Edinburgh Northern to knock doors and deliver leaflets for her last night. Cllr Yi-pei Chou Turvey, Banchory and Mid Deeside was invited this week to give a talk at Aberdeen's International School about the importance of voting. Councillor Mel Sullivan, North Kincardine took part in her first hustings, hosted by the Scottish Hindu Foundation a few days ago.
