We are delighted to announce that our survey on the future of First Hampden is now live.

This is the first step in our community consultation for our feasibility study.

Your responses will form the bedrock of the next phases of our project. We want to hear from as many interested parties as possible so please share far and wide.

It should take around 5-10 minutes to complete and can be accessed at this link: https://forms.cloud.microsoft/e/JK6unFFPGi

The site of First Hampden has been put on the market to let.

Some recent coverage has suggested the site has been “saved”. It hasn’t. Our community asset transfer request was refused by City Property Glasgow on the basis that the site has income generating potential. It has now been advertised for lease.

What’s on offer is a new full repairing and insuring lease, open to leisure, community or commercial proposals. No price or closing date has been listed.

830+ people have now signed up in support of a community-led future for First Hampden — and we will put a proposal forward.

Alongside that, our feasibility and design process is underway with Glasgow Building Preservation Trust. It will give us a costed plan for an upgraded site that serves the community while honouring First Hampden’s past. We’ll be asking for your input on that soon.

Will it just go to the highest bidder? City Property Glasgow has said wider interest in the site can be reflected in the assessment of bids. Our local MP, John Grady, has written asking for detail on how that will be evaluated.

It’s all to play for. The future of First Hampden is still open. If you want to play a part in deciding it, sign up at www.firsthampden.org
