New roadworks

‼️Belsize Road - Road works 🚧

I've been asking DFI to resurface the Belsize Road for a long time and its finally happening 🙌 albeit there will be a lot of disruption 🙈

🟡 Starting on Monday 19th October, for approx 6 months.

🟡 Traffic will be reduced to 1 lane, from 9.30am - 4.30pm Monday - Friday, with temporary traffic lights in place.

🟡It will be from the roundabout at the junction of Kirkwoods Road, to Boomers Road.

Please expect delays and allow longer for longer journey times!

⚠️ DRIVER INVOLVED – PLEASE TAKE NOTE

I had a terrifying experience today at the Drumbeg Road / Upper Malone Road / Ballyskeagh Road junction.

A light grey/glossy Audi A1 or possibly a VW Polo/Golf with blonde female driver, simply pulled out from the T-junction directly into my path as I was travelling straight ahead from Upper Malone to Ballyskeagh Rd.

I had to take immediate action to avoid a collision. Had another vehicle been coming in the opposite direction, we could have been ploughed straight into, with potentially devastating consequences.

Thankfully, we were not injured, but I want the driver — or anyone who knows her — to understand just how serious this was. I didn’t get the registration number, unfortunately.

This is already a difficult junction, so please slow down, look properly and make absolutely sure the road is clear before pulling out. A moment’s carelessness can change people’s lives.

If the driver recognises this incident, I hope she realises how incredibly lucky we all were today.

New survey about the proposed new parking on Station Road Lambeg.

𝑯𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝑺𝒂𝒚 𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝑳𝒂𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒈 𝑪𝒂𝒓 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒌

Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council has launched a public consultation on proposals for a new 13-space car park at Station Road, Lambeg.

The proposal aims to help address parking pressures, improve access to local facilities and enhance safety. Before any decision is made, it's important that local residents have the opportunity to have their say.

A public consultation event will take place on Wednesday 5 August, from 2.00pm to 7.00pm, at Lambeg Parish Church Hall.

The survey remains open until 16 August.

Whether you support the proposal, have concerns, or would like changes made, I would encourage everyone affected to take part and make their views known.
