Step inside the archive of a horror master 😱

A few tickets remain for a special evening with Ramsey Campbell, one of the world's leading horror writers.

In conversation with Dr Simon Marsden, Campbell will reflect on a career spanning seven decades, discuss his craft, and share insights into the art of creating psychological horror.
The event marks the donation of the most recent part of Campbell's archive to the University of Liverpool and visitors will have the rare opportunity to view notebooks and typescripts from the Ramsey Campbell archive.

In the gallery corridor you will find the striking woodblock print 'King' by Yinka Shonibare. It is a reworking of a portrait of Henry VIII that is currently on display in the Walker Art Gallery.

Shonibare has obscured Henry VIII's face with a stylised African mask, and his clothing is covered with Ankara fabric. The use of Ankara fabric is a signature of Shonibare's work. King is part of the print series Unstructured Icons (2018), which was purchased for the University of Liverpool's collection with the support of the Contemporary Art Society, 2022.
