🎨 Art is Freedom is currently at Strand Aldwych (pedestrianised area).

From now until 8 November, artwork created by survivors of modern slavery will be displayed at Strand Aldwych as part of our outdoor exhibition, Art is Freedom 2026.

This year’s theme, ‘This Is Me’, is a celebration of identity beyond experiences of modern slavery - showcasing the individuality, creativity, hope and self-expression of the survivor-artists.

This Supported Housing Week, we’re sharing Jarod and Daniel’s stories, showing how the right support can help people build confidence, find stability and work towards independence.

With support from Hestia, Jarod has grown in confidence and is pursuing his ambition of becoming an occupational therapist. Daniel has made progress in his recovery, rediscovered his interests and is looking towards living independently.

Their journeys are different, but both show that supported housing is about more than a place to live. It’s about having the stability and support to explore new possibilities and build a future on your own terms.

On Anti-Slavery Day, the iconic Piccadilly Lights in Westminster paused for 10 minutes to display artwork created by survivors of .

🎨Our exhibition invites artists to explore who they are beyond their experiences of modern slavery. It challenges the label of “victim”, celebrates identity, and encourages audiences to see the person behind the statistics.

Together, the works demonstrate how creativity and joy can help survivors rebuild confidence, reclaim their identity and find hope after trauma.

This morning, our Art is Freedom exhibition was featured on BBC Radio London's Breakfast Show, shining a light on the powerful artwork created by survivors of modern slavery.

The feature includes an interview with one of our survivor-artists, sharing his experience, alongside powerful insights from Eleanor Lyons, Independent Anti-Slavery Commissioner, who also contributed to the exhibition’s curation.
