This Saturday (31 October) is a Mega Skip Day!

Dispose of up to six bulky waste items for free. Our Mega Skips will be open from 9am to 12 noon or until the skips are full (whichever comes first).

The skips will be at:

What do you think about more flights at Heathrow?

Heathrow Airport has launched an official consultation into proposals for a third runway and on behalf of residents, Wandsworth Council remains firmly opposed to this.

We believe that the pressures the expansion could impose on residents and businesses here would be unjustifiable.

Come along to our free public event on 10 November, where you can learn more about the plans and understand what this could mean for Wandsworth. Alongside a panel of experts, the MP for Putney will also attend to discuss the issue, with topics to include night flying, air quality, aircraft noise and other issues that matters to people who live, work and study in Wandsworth.

We want the voices in our community to be heard, and so your views and concerns will directly feed into the Council's official response to the consultation.

We’re standing together to fight for a fairer funding deal for our residents.

Following Government’s reform, Wandsworth will lose £154 million in funding over the next three years alone, putting enormous pressure on services and Council Tax.

That’s why the leaders of Wandsworth, Westminster, Kensington & Chelsea and Richmond have taken our case directly to Government, calling on ministers to rethink.

We’re on your side, we’re making Wandsworth’s case, and we’ll keep fighting for the funding our residents deserve.

We're changing the rules about who gets priority for social housing to make the system fairer and reduce reliance on temporary accommodation.

Proposals include:
➡️Enabling homeless people in temporary accommodation to move into privately-rented homes without losing their place on the housing register
➡️Enabling people to bid on their prefered new home
➡️Giving people moving to a smaller home Band A priority

Tackling Sexual Harassment and Spiking in Wandsworth 🍸

Licensed venues, local businesses and hospitality staff are invited to take the new free e-learning course.

The course will help to prevent, recognise and respond to sexual harassment, drink spiking or concerns involving vulnerable customers.

Councillor Lynsey Hedges, the council's lead for tackling violence against women and girls (VAWG), said:

"Everyone should be able to enjoy a night out in Wandsworth without fear of harassment, harm or assault. Wandsworth has a fun and thriving night-time economy that attracts people from all over London. By working together, we can create safer places for residents and visitors to party in peace." 🥂

Council Leader Robert Morritt was pleased to visit a local synagogue and meet the Rabbi and Chairman.

The Jewish community has made a huge contribution to life in the UK. An open, tolerant society in which everyone can feel safe shouldn’t be a big ask.

The rising tide of antisemitism is dangerous and has no place in this borough or any other.
