Artist arrival! We’re pleased to announce that our new artists in residence Annabelle Binnerts and Bart Lunenburg have arrived safely at The Van Gogh House. Over the next few weeks they will be absorbing everything London and the house has to offer. During their residency, they hope to conduct a shared investigation of the house as a “utilitarian object, passed down from resident to resident” as they explore what is seen and unseen in the history of the house. We’re excited to see what they produce!

Annabelle and Bart's residency is supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the UK, and the Mondrian Fund.

Now that spring has truly sprung, why not welcome in the lighter nights with one of our gorgeous candles? Steph Huang's "Porky Pig" candle brings childhood nostalgia and whimsy into her sculptural form. The candle serves as both a decorative object as well as one that projects good fortune.

Steph Huang is an internationally exhibited artist whose work has most recently been displayed in Tokyo, Taipei and Germany as well as the Tate Britain. Her candle can be purchased both online and in our house shop.

On Saturday our lovely team got the chance to go and see "Vincent in Brixton" at The Orange Tree theatre in Richmond. It was brilliant to see how the production had developed from when the cast came to see the house to it being recreated on stage!

If you'd like to know more about Vincent's time in Brixton, make sure to head to the theatre's Saturday Seminar given by our creative director- Livia Wang- on the 11th of April at 11am.

Each artist we host for a residency leaves an artistic intervention into our wonderful house. One of our most notable traces in our beautiful stairwell mural designed by Jo Volley. She has designed these pamphlets exploring the pigments Van Gogh used in his work so that you can take a part of the house home with you.

These can be purchased in our house shop as well as through our website (link in bio).

We are pleased to announce that our next residency will host two artists from the Netherlands! We're looking forward to welcoming Annabelle Binnerts and Bart Lunenburg to The Van Gogh House this April. The pair boast distinct artistic approaches to the exploration of spaces as vehicles for stories, focusing on written poetic practice and archival research respectively.

This will be the fifth edition of the programme, supported by the Embassy of The Kingdom of The Netherlands and The Mondrian Fund. We’re excited to see what they produce!
