The first local community radio

"The Chairman of Kuntaur Area Council, Hon. Saihou Jawara, distributed 700 bags (10kg each) of sugar to the Local Government Area (LGA) on Monday, 9th March 2026. The distribution was made possible through the efforts of the Vision Development Foundation, courtesy of Alhagie Modou Turro Darboe.

The event was attended by ward councillors, VDC representatives, lady councillors, and elders from various communities. The sugar was handed over to VDC chairpersons, ward councillors, and lady councillors for onward distribution to their respective communities."

Kuntaur Area Council, led by Chairman Hon. Saihou Jawara, has taken a significant step to boost revenue collection and service delivery 🚴‍♂️. The Council has purchased six motorbikes for three collectors and three nominated councillors - the Chief Representative, Women Representative, and Youth Representative. This initiative aims to enhance mobility and efficiency in revenue collection and service provision across the area.

*Strengthening Partnerships for Community Development*

Kuntaur Area Council, 20th February 2026 - ChildFund Gambia, in collaboration with TOSTAN and other partners, held a productive meeting with the Chairman of Kuntaur Area Council and the Director RED 5 North at the Council Chambers.

The meeting aimed to strengthen the existing partnership and explore new avenues for community development within LGA. ChildFund the Gambia reaffirmed there commitment to prioritizing Kuntaur LGA in their development initiatives.

The Chairman and the entire management of the council continued to show their appreciate to ChildFund's continued support and expressed enthusiasm for the strengthened collaboration, which will enhance the delivery of services to the people of Kuntaur.

We look forward to continued partnership and progress! 🇬🇲
