Continuing their field visit to Tripura, the delegation from the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA), Government of India, visited the Pathaliaghat Mushroom Cluster and the Agroforestry Plantation at Tarapadabari JFMC, Pramodnagar Beat, under Bishalgarh SDMU, Sepahijala DMU.

The visits offered the delegation an insight into SCATFORM's efforts to promote sustainable livelihood opportunities through mushroom cultivation and strengthen climate-resilient agroforestry practices at the grassroots level.

These initiatives reflect the project's commitment to empowering local communities, diversifying rural incomes and promoting sustainable forest-based livelihoods.

A team from the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA), Government of India visited the ANR Miscellaneous Plantation under Upendra JFMC, Padmabil Range, and the Rikari Handloom Cluster under Padmabil RMU, Khowai DMU, during its four-day visit to Tripura.

The visits highlighted forest restoration efforts and community-based livelihood initiatives under the Tripura JICA (SCATFORM) Project.

A team from the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA), Government of India, led by Shri Manoj Kumar, Deputy Secretary, visited the eco-tourism site at Sitacherra Lake and the Bamboo Cluster & Bamboo Treatment Plant under Subalsing Range, Sadar SDMU under West DMU, as part of their four-day visit to Tripura.

The visit highlighted initiatives promoting eco-tourism, sustainable bamboo utilisation and livelihood generation under the Tripura JICA (SCATFORM) Project.

Building on the initial field visit, officials and technical experts from the Animal Resources Development (ARD) Department, along with SCATFORM PMU officials and PMC, visited the proposed piggery cluster site at Raktiacherra Beat, Mandwi RMU, West DMU, today.
The visit focused on assessing technical requirements and exploring strategies to strengthen scientific pig rearing, support livestock-based entrepreneurship and enhance livelihood opportunities for the 50 proposed beneficiaries.

Today, DMU Chief, Sh. Deependra Jewaria, IFS, along with SDFO Karbook Chief, Sh. Avinash Bhil, visited the Agroforestry Plantation site under Gomati District. The plantation was found to be in good condition, with healthy growth and successful establishment of the planted species.

The visit focused on assessing the progress and overall performance of the plantation and encouraging sustainable agroforestry practices among local communities.

Strengthening Honey Bee Clusters in Gomati District!

Gomati DMU Chief Sh. Deependra Jewaria, IFS, along with SDMU Chief, Udaipur, Sh. Khagendra Debbarma, TFS, today visited Omlak JFMC under Killa Range to review the progress of the Honey Bee Cluster developed under the SCATFORM Project.

The team inspected the honey collection rate and assessed the performance of honey bee boxes distributed to beneficiaries, with a focus on strengthening livelihoods and promoting sustainable beekeeping among local communities.

A field visit was conducted to the proposed piggery cluster site under Raktiacherra Beat, Mandwi RMU, West DMU to review the initiative aimed at strengthening rural livelihoods through scientific pig rearing. The visit was led by Smt. Banumathi G, IFS, CEO & PD, SCATFORM Project.
The proposed cluster will involve 50 beneficiaries, creating opportunities for income generation and sustainable livelihood development at the community level.
The team also comprised the Director (SFM), SDMU Chief, Mandwi, PM-Livelihood, Range Officer, and other staff members.

A field monitoring visit was conducted at Mandai RMU, Raktiya Chara Beat, to facilitate the establishment of a new piglet cluster under the Raktiya Chara & Bhibhudas Bari Joint Forest Management Committee (JFMC).

The Tripura JICA Project (SCATFORM), Forest Department, in collaboration with ARDD, successfully organized a 2-day training on Scientific Pig Rearing, Vaccination & Livestock Insurance at Chakmaghat Beat Meeting Hall under Khowai DMU.
The second day featured a field camp providing on-site vaccinations and direct insurance enrolments for members of Enhui, Twiphang Bodol, Hamjakma Bodol, Salka Bodol, Aichuk, and Krishnamani Bodol SHGs.

Day 1 of the two-day training programme on scientific pig rearing and management commenced successfully for Self-Help Group (SHG) members under RMU Mungiakami, Khowai DMU, under the Tripura SCATFORM Project.
A livestock vaccination camp and integrated insurance enrolment programme will also be organised tomorrow, further strengthening animal health and financial security for participating SHG members.
