Continuing the ongoing Mushroom Cultivation training programme, Shri Ishang Lal, IFS, SDMU Chief, Bishalgarh visited the Training Centre on Day 5 and interacted with SHG members (participants).
During the visit, he reviewed the progress of the training, addressed queries of the participants, and encouraged them to effectively utilize the skills being imparted for sustainable livelihood generation. The interaction added motivation and strengthened the learning environment for the SHG members.
This initiative is part of the continuous efforts under the Tripura JICA Project (SCATFORM) towards promoting community-based livelihood opportunities.

Shri C., IFS, Director (AFA/M&E), along with Shri H. Vignesh, DMU Chief, Gomati, visited and inspected BO buildings and M3 check dam sites. The visit was conducted in the presence of officials from NPCCL and field staff.
The inspection focused on assessing the quality, progress, and implementation of field-level activities under the project. Such visits play a crucial role in ensuring effective ex*****on and strengthening sustainable forest management initiatives.

The 7-day training programme on Mushroom Cultivation for SHG members of Charilam RMU under the SCATFORM Project was inaugurated at Pathaliaghat VTC Hall, Pramodnagar Beat, under Pathalia Micro Cluster.
A total of 5 Self Help Groups (SHGs) from Goliraibari JFMC, Tarapadabari JFMC, and Pathaliaghat JFMC are participating in this capacity-building initiative aimed at promoting sustainable livelihood opportunities.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Shri Atanu Chakraborti, DMU Chief Sepahijala and Shri Ishang Lal, SDMU Chief, Bishalgarh.
This initiative reflects the continued efforts under the SCATFORM Project to empower local communities through skill development and income-generating activities.

A District Level Review Meeting with the DMU Chiefs (District Forest Officers) under the Tripura JICA Project (SCATFORM) was held today at the Conference Hall of the PMU, JICA Building, Prakriti Bhawan under the chairmanship of Smt. Banumathi G., IFS, CEO & Project Director.
During the meeting, the district-wise progress of various project activities and related components was reviewed. Presentations were made by the concerned DMU Chiefs, followed by discussions on targets under Sustainable Forest Management, agroforestry models, plantations, soil moisture conservation works, and livelihood activities under the project.
The meeting also focused on upcoming initiatives, strengthening field implementation, and improving coordination across districts for effective project delivery.

A 7-Day Training Programme on Toy Making is currently being organized for the members of Kwtal Badal Self Help Group (SHG) under Charilam RMU. The training is being held at Rung Thung ECO Park, Tarapadabari, under Bishalgarh SDMU, Sepahijala District.
Through this hands-on training, SHG members are learning creative toy-making techniques that can help generate sustainable income and strengthen community-based enterprises. The programme also encourages local craftsmanship and entrepreneurship among women.
Such initiatives under the Tripura JICA Project (SCATFORM) continue to support skill enhancement and livelihood promotion among rural communities.

On the eve of International Women’s Day, all women staff of the Project Management Unit (PMU) were felicitated and honoured in recognition of their dedication, hard work, and valuable contributions to the Tripura JICA Project (SCATFORM).
The programme was held in the presence of Smt. Banumathi. G, IFS, CEO & Project Director, along with other senior officers, who appreciated the role of women professionals in strengthening project implementation and institutional growth.
The occasion served as a moment to acknowledge and celebrate the commitment, resilience, and leadership of women working towards sustainable development and community empowerment in Tripura.

Loknath SHG from Butui Hill JFMC, Jalai Beat under Gournagar Rangeunder Unakoti District has successfully established “Loknath Tiffin House” at JICA Bazar, Jalai. Managed by dedicated SHG members, the enterprise provides tiffin services, catering, and food order delivery, creating a sustainable income source for the group while serving the local community.
Such initiatives reflect the project’s commitment to women empowerment, livelihood diversification, and strengthening forest-fringe communities.

Honey boxes were distributed to members of North Krishnapur JFMC under Teliamura RMU, Teliamura SDMU, Khowai DMU as part of the Tripura SCATFORM Project.
The programme was graced by Shri Ashok Kumar, IFS, DMU Chief, Khowai; Shri Diren Kalai, TFS, SDMU Chief, Teliamura and other dignitaries.
This initiative aims to enhance sustainable livelihood opportunities through scientific beekeeping practices, while also contributing towards Human-Elephant Conflict (HEC) mitigation by empowering forest-dependent communities with alternative income sources.
The active participation of JFMC members reflects the growing commitment towards community-based forest management and ecological sustainability.

The District Level Awareness Program on Agro-Forestry under the Tripura SCATFORM Project was successfully organized today at Raima Saima Kalakshetra, Gandacherra, Dhalai Tripura by the team of Tripura SCATFORM Project under Gumti Wildlife Sanctuary.
The programme was graced by Smt. Susmita Das, Hon’ble Zilla Sabhadhipati, Dhalai Zilla Parishad as the Chief Guest and Smt. Banumathi. G, IFS, CEO & PD, JICA (SCATFORM) Project as Guests of Honour; Sri Bhumikannada Reang, MDC, TTAADC, Khumulwng and Sri Chandrajoy Reang, SDM, Ganda Twisa Sub-Division as Special Guests; and was presided over by Sri Prem Sadhan Tripura, Hon’ble BAC Chairman, Dumburnagar RD Block.
The programme emphasized the significance of agro-forestry in enhancing farmers’ income, ensuring ecological balance, and promoting sustainable forest-based livelihoods through community participation.

Team from Padmabil RMU under Khowai SDMU of Khowai DMU undertook an exposure visit to Sivasagar, Jorhat, Kaziranga National Park, and Guwahati to explore innovative livelihood and enterprise development opportunities for SHG members under the SCATFORM Project.
The team comprising the Smt Bhabani Debbarma, RMU Chief, Padmabil, Beat Officer, and Project staff interacted with local institutions and community groups to understand best practices in eco-tourism, sustainable enterprises, value addition, and market linkages.
The exposure visit provided valuable insights that will help strengthen livelihood planning and implementation for SHGs in Tripura.

In continuation to discussion held at PMU between Smt. Banumathi. G, IFS, CEO & PD, SCATFORM, the DFO and the SDFO Bishalgarh, a follow-up meeting was conducted today by Shri Ishang Lal, IFS, SDFO Bishalgarh with all JFMC and SHG members involved in the Mushroom Cultivation Business Plan.
The meeting aimed at reviewing progress, addressing field-level challenges, and strengthening cluster-based implementation to ensure sustainable livelihood generation.
The SCATFORM Project remains committed to promoting structured enterprise development through continuous guidance and coordination.
