Under the Mission Shakti Initiative of NCW and the Government of Odisha, a self-defence training session was conducted successfully at Gopalpur, Cuttack with 13 participants.
Trainer Mahajabin Alam focused on self-defence skills and safety awareness, equipping participants with practical techniques to prevent, de-escalate, and escape dangerous situations while building confidence and preparedness.

Launched in September 2023, the PM Vishwakarma scheme provides holistic end-to-end support, including financial aid and skill training, to traditional artisans across 18 different trades.
By integrating local craftsmanship into domestic and global value chains, this initiative aims to empower hands, enrich heritage, and build a stronger Bharat.

The National Commission for Women has taken suo motu cognizance of deeply distressing media reports regarding the alleged sexual assault of a minor girl in Dimapur, Nagaland.

Hon’ble Chairperson, NCW, Smt. Vijaya Rahatkar has written to the Director General of Police, Nagaland, directing immediate, stringent, and time-bound action in the matter. The Commission has sought a detailed Action Taken Report (ATR) within seven days.

The ATR has been sought on the status of investigation by the Special Investigation Team (SIT), arrest and custodial status of the accused persons, recording of the survivor’s statement, medical and forensic examination findings, and the timeline for filing the chargesheet.

The Commission has also sought details regarding measures taken to ensure the minor survivor’s privacy, identity protection, safety, trauma counselling, rehabilitation, compensation, and access to legal aid under applicable child protection laws and welfare schemes.

The National Commission for Women has strongly condemned the incident and stated that crimes involving sexual violence against children are among the most heinous offences and must be investigated with utmost sensitivity, urgency, and rigor to ensure swift justice for the survivor.

The National Commission for Women has taken suo motu cognizance of a deeply disturbing matter concerning the alleged physical assault, public humiliation, indecent manhandling, and outraging of modesty of Scheduled Caste women by police personnel in Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh.

Hon’ble Chairperson, NCW, Smt. Vijaya Rahatkar has written to the Director General of Police, Andhra Pradesh, directing immediate, impartial, and time-bound action in the matter. The Commission has sought a detailed Action Taken Report (ATR) within seven days.

The ATR has been sought on the status of the inquiry into the alleged misconduct, registration of cases under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), departmental and disciplinary action against the officials found responsible, and measures taken to prevent any further harassment, intimidation, or victimisation of the affected women and their families.

The Commission has also sought details regarding counselling, rehabilitation, legal assistance, and protection being extended to the victims, along with systemic measures to ensure gender-sensitive policing and adherence to legal safeguards for women, particularly those belonging to Scheduled Castes and other vulnerable communities.

The National Commission for Women has strongly condemned the alleged incident and stated that any act of violence, humiliation, or abuse of authority against women by law enforcement personnel is unacceptable and must invite strict accountability under law.

राष्ट्रीय महिला आयोग ने उत्तर प्रदेश के मथुरा में एक स्वयंभू आध्यात्मिक गुरु द्वारा महिलाओं के कथित यौन शोषण, ब्लैकमेलिंग एवं उत्पीड़न संबंधी अत्यंत गंभीर मीडिया रिपोर्ट्स पर स्वतः संज्ञान लिया है।

राष्ट्रीय महिला आयोग की माननीय अध्यक्षा श्रीमती विजया रहाटकर द्वारा उत्तर प्रदेश के पुलिस महानिदेशक को पत्र लिखकर मामले में तत्काल, कठोर एवं समयबद्ध कार्रवाई सुनिश्चित करने के निर्देश दिए गए हैं। आयोग ने सात दिनों के भीतर विस्तृत Action Taken Report (ATR) प्रस्तुत करने को कहा है।

आयोग ने FIR में लगाए गए प्रावधानों, भारतीय न्याय संहिता (BNS) एवं सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी अधिनियम के अंतर्गत की गई कार्रवाई, जांच की वर्तमान स्थिति, आरोपी की हिरासत की स्थिति, मेडिकल, फोरेंसिक एवं साइबर जांच के निष्कर्षों तथा मामले से जुड़े अन्य संभावित पीड़ितों की पहचान संबंधी जानकारी मांगी है।

आयोग ने पीड़िताओं की सुरक्षा, गोपनीयता, परामर्श, पुनर्वास एवं कानूनी सहायता हेतु उठाए गए कदमों के साथ-साथ कथित शोषण के पूरे नेटवर्क का पता लगाने के लिए की जा रही जांच संबंधी विवरण भी मांगा है।

राष्ट्रीय महिला आयोग ने इस घटना की कड़ी निंदा करते हुए कहा है कि आस्था, आध्यात्मिक प्रभाव एवं डिजिटल माध्यमों का दुरुपयोग कर महिलाओं का यौन शोषण, उत्पीड़न एवं ब्लैकमेलिंग करना अत्यंत गंभीर अपराध है तथा दोषियों के विरुद्ध कानून के तहत कठोरतम कार्रवाई सुनिश्चित की जानी चाहिए।
