On 29.05.2026, a total of 96 missing mobile phones, which had been recovered by various GRPSs under Sealdah GRP District, were handed over to their original owners, after proper verification and completion of all legal formalities. West Bengal Police

On 30.05.2026 at about 07.35 hrs, the following persons were detained by a police team of Bongaon GRPS at Platform Nos. 2/3, Sealdah-end, Bongaon Railway Station, on suspicion of being illegal foreign nationals:

1. Sk. Jalil Hossain (M/23 years), S/o Sk. Rafiqul Islam, Vill- Chhonka, P.O. & P.S.- Kaliganj, Dist.- Satkhira, Bangladesh.

2. Sk. Ibrahim Hossain (M/14 years), S/o Sk. Rafiqul Islam, Vill- Chhonka, P.O. & P.S.- Kaliganj, Dist.- Satkhira, Bangladesh.

3. Arafat Sarder (M/18 years), S/o Alamgir Sarder, Vill. & P.O.- Sarutia, P.S.- Keshabpur, Dist.- Jessore, Bangladesh.

4. Ankhi Khatun (F/14 years), D/o Alamgir Sarder, Vill. & P.O.- Sarutia, P.S.- Keshabpur, Dist.- Jessore, Bangladesh.

During the enquiry, the detainees failed to produce any valid Indian identity document or any document in support of their lawful stay in India.

During interrogation, the detainees disclosed that they had illegally entered India approximately 6–7 years prior through the Benapole border without any valid passport, visa, or travel documents.

The detainees further disclosed that after their illegal entry into India, they had been residing in a rented house near 24 No. Guma Rail Gate under Ashoknagar Police Station, Barasat Police District.

They stated that:

• Sl. No. 1 was engaged in embroidery work.

• Sl. No. 2 is a student of Class IX at Bira Ballavpara High School.

• Sl. No. 3 was working as a mason.

• Sl. No. 4 was not engaged in any work.

Further, in compliance with the instructions contained in the aforesaid MHA guidelines, the above-mentioned Bangladeshi nationals are being produced by Bongaon GRPS before SP Bongaon PD as well as FRO Bongaon PD. West Bengal Police
