Working together during the FMD restrictions 🤝

NAPHA and representatives of the taxidermy sector met with the Directorate of Veterinary Services (DVS) today to discuss matters affecting our sectors.

We thank Dr. Kenneth Shoombe and his team for their time and constructive engagement. We recognise the hard work being done by DVS and everyone involved in responding to the outbreak and protecting Namibia’s animal health.

We ask all members to continue adhering to the regulations and official veterinary instructions. Cooperation remains essential, and everyone has a role to play.

NAPHA will continue collaborating with DVS and will share confirmed information with members as soon as it becomes available.

The faces behind the scenes! 👏

NAPHA sincerely thanks the dedicated Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism team who volunteered their time to assist with the hunting professional examinations on 22 October 2026.

From setting up the exam to oral examiners and invigilators, these individuals set aside their own work for the morning to help ensure that the examinations ran smoothly and professionally.

Thank you for your time, expertise and commitment to supporting the next generation of hunting professionals in Namibia.

🐘 Namibia’s Wildlife Success Story

Namibia’s wildlife story is a powerful example of how conservation and sustainable use can help wildlife thrive both inside and outside protected areas.

With a human population of around 3 million and a wildlife population of around 3 million, Namibia is home to large populations of species such as elephants, leopards and cheetahs — many of them living beyond national parks.

This video looks at Namibia’s unique approach to wildlife conservation and how giving wildlife value and space has helped support healthy populations across the country.
