Chinese FM Wang Yi :
In order to reinvigorate the UN, we need to first reinvigorate the Security Council.

🔹All members of the Security Council need to take maintaining peace as their mission, abide by the UN Charter, uphold justice, and refrain from acting on their own selfish interests or creating bloc confrontation.

🔹Enhance the voice of developing countries and small and medium-sized nations through reform, particularly by addressing the historical injustice faced by Africa.

🔹The objectivity, fairness, and inclusiveness of Security Council proposals should be enhanced.

🔹The international community should work together to reject all kinds of unilateral actions that bypass the Security Council so that unilateral bullying will find no market and will have no legitimacy.

Chinese FM Wang Yi: This year marks the 55th anniversary of the restoration of the lawful seat of the People’s Republic of China in the U.N. For 55 years, as a permanent member of the Security Council, China has taken an active part in the U.N. cause.

China will continue to uphold principles and follow the path of justice. Chinese FM Wang Yi presided over the U.N. Security Council high-level meeting on upholding the purposes and principles of the U.N. Charter and strengthening the U.N.-centered international system in New York.

U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres briefed on the global situation, and representatives from over 100 countries, including more than 20 foreign ministers and other senior officials, attended the meeting.

The theme of this meeting is “Upholding the Purposes and Principles of the UN Charter and Strengthening the UN-centered International System.”

Under China's policy for 53 African nations (effective May 1, 2026), Nigerian bovine bone chips now enter the Chinese market duty‑free.

This is just the beginning. China’s zero-tariff policy comes with a package of supporting measures to ease the import process:
✅“green lanes” for African agro and food imports
✅streamlined quarantine clearance procedures
✅a tiered risk-based management

These benefits are expected to extend to more Nigerian premium products, boosting export revenues, creating rural jobs, and strengthening the nation's agricultural value chain.

President Xi Jinping held large group talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

President Xi pointed out that in recent years, faced with a fluid and turbulent international situation, China and Russia have developed the comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination in the new era on the basis of equality, mutual respect, good faith, and win-win cooperation.

Political mutual trust has further deepened, cooperation in various areas such as trade and economy, investment, energy, science and technology, people-to-people and subnational exchanges continued to advance, and the bonds between the two peoples have grown stronger.
