Do you know that 19 member states of the European Union 🇪🇺 have embassies in Nigeria 🇳🇬? Spain 🇪🇸 and the other member states present 🇧🇬🇦🇹🇫🇷🇬🇷🇭🇺🇷🇴🇵🇹🇩🇰🇵🇱🇨🇿🇸🇪🇩🇪🇮🇹🇳🇱🇮🇪🇧🇪🇸🇰🇫🇮 have gathered at the EU Delegation on the occasion of the visit of the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy to Abuja

Yesterday, an agreement was signed under which Denmark 🇩🇰 joins the "EU Support to ECOWAS in Peace, Security and Governance programme" , financing the component being implemented by 🇪🇸. Denmark's contribution will help to increase the impact of the work executed by FIAP in promoting democratic, transparent and peaceful electoral processes within ECOWAS

The EPSG programme is an example of work: financed by the EU 🇪🇺, Germany 🇩🇪 and Denmark 🇩🇰 with components implemented by 🇩🇪, 🇫🇷 and 🇪🇸

📰 Some days ago organized a workshop with 35 journalists and representatives of CSOs from Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross Rivers, Delta, Edo and Rivers who gathered in Uyo for an intensive training session on how to identify and counter disinformation, fake news and hate speech during election periods. The workshop is part of the EU-supported EPSG project with ECOWAS 👏

Furthermore, during the training they launched the community awareness campaign 🥳

The 🇳🇬 Centre for Black and African Arts and Civilization , the National Troupe Nigeria , the Institute of African and Diaspora Studies , University of Lagos and some members of the Cluster Nigeria, including Spain 🇪🇸, 🇩🇪 🇮🇪 🇬🇧 🇪🇺 launched some months ago "Roots & Roofs: the Pan African Indigenous Skills Development Program", part of "Spaces of Culture" of the "Africa-Europe Partnerships for Culture".

The first workshops have taken place in the last few weeks. The project focuses on training a new generation in indigenous design and building techniques - while also exploring how performative arts and dance animate and give meaning to architectural spaces 👏

Let's start by supporting the promotion of the 2026 edition of Eastern Nigeria Film Festival! 🎬

- At the Embassy of Spain we like giving sustainability to our projects and relations with partners. This year again we collaborated with The Skilled Women Initiative & Abuja International Photo Festival to put together a photo workshop with Spanish photographer Ignacio Gutiérrez Bolívar which concluded with an exhibition at the Malaysia IDP camp. More about it to come soon.

And summarinsing our last events...

- We concluded the programme with a 2 days concert in Lagos and 2 winners for the Spanish music festivals: Ruth Mahogany & the ARB Music Band and Ara Queen of Drums. Amazing!
So much talent!
