After a week of learning since the launch of the Summer ARAL and Remediation Program last May 7, Tacunan National High School successfully conducted its Summer ARAL Fun Day 2026 today, May 14, 2026, bringing together learners and teacher-volunteers for a day of fun and meaningful learning.
The activity was organized by the teacher-volunteers of Tacunan National High School as part of the continuing efforts to support learners through engaging and interactive activities during the summer program.
Learners actively participated in learning games such as Spelling Bee and Pass the Message. These activities helped strengthen their spelling, listening, and communication skills while promoting teamwork and active participation in a fun learning environment.
Teacher-volunteers guided and facilitated the activities, ensuring that learners continued to build their skills while enjoying the different games prepared for them.
A highlight of the event was the free lugaw given to all learners and volunteers, generously provided by the Davao City Local Government Unit. The warm meal was appreciated by everyone, especially after a full day of activities.
The Summer ARAL Fun Day 2026 served as a meaningful break after a week of lessons under the Summer ARAL and Remediation Program, showing that learning can be both enjoyable and effective through active participation and strong community support.

Continuous learning and skill development were strengthened through engaging Math and Reading intervention activities conducted during the ARAL Summer and Remediation Program on May 13, 2026, with the support and guidance of dedicated teacher-volunteers.
Learners participated in answering the ARAL Booklets for Math and Reading, followed by lecture discussions to further explain the lessons and guide the learners in understanding the activities. In the Reading sessions, learners also practiced reading three-syllable words to improve their pronunciation, fluency, and vocabulary skills.
For the Math sessions, learners were guided through activities involving numbers, numerals, and ordinal numbers. Teacher-volunteers patiently explained the lessons and assisted learners in answering their exercises and understanding mathematical concepts.
The teacher-volunteers continuously monitored learner participation and provided support and remediation to help learners improve their literacy and numeracy skills in a positive learning environment.
Learners also shared their experiences and learnings from the activities. One learner said, โNakatuon ko sa activity about sa ordinal numbers.โ Another learner shared, โNakatuon ko unsaon pag identify sa numbers into numerals, ug na challenge pod ko kay nakabalo ug spelling sa words.โ
The continued implementation of the ARAL Summer and Remediation Program highlights Tacunan National High Schoolโs commitment to supporting learners through quality intervention activities and the dedication of teacher-volunteers in promoting continuous learning.

Tacunan National High School continued the implementation of the ARAL Summer and Remediation Program on May 12, 2026, through reading and mathematics activities facilitated by dedicated teacher-volunteers.
Learners under the ARAL Reading sessions answered activities from the ARAL booklet for readers, while non-readers participated in phonics activities to improve their pronunciation and reading skills. The activities helped learners strengthen their basic literacy skills in a supportive learning environment.
For the ARAL Math sessions, learners answered ARAL Math Booklet 5, which focused on developing their understanding of mathematical concepts and improving problem-solving skills.
Teacher-volunteers guided the learners throughout the activities by providing instructions, assisting them in answering exercises, and monitoring their participation and progress during the sessions.
Learners also shared positive feedback about the dayโs activities. One learner said, โNakatuon ko sa activity sa Math,โ while another learner shared, โGanahan ko kay naay Math na activity.โ Their responses reflected the learnersโ enjoyment and appreciation of the learning activities provided during the program.

Tacunan National High School teacher-volunteers continued to show commitment and dedication to the ARAL Summer and Remediation Program through home-based work and learning activities conducted on May 8, 2026.
Despite working from home, ARAL tutors remained active in preparing instructional materials, facilitating learner support, and participating in professional development activities to ensure continuous learning for students.
Several teacher-volunteers attended and watched the TechTalk ARAL Math sessions and orientation trainings related to learning system reforms and ARAL implementation. These activities helped tutors strengthen their teaching strategies and enhance their knowledge in delivering effective intervention lessons.
Tutors also prepared and printed learning materials, including activity sheets and student workbooks for ARAL Reading and Math learners. PowerPoint presentations for upcoming lectures were created to support engaging and organized lesson delivery for the next face-to-face sessions.
In support of learners, teacher-volunteers facilitated online ARAL sessions through Facebook platforms, sent home learning activities, followed up learnersโ tasks, and monitored student outputs. Academic support and remediation activities were continuously provided to struggling learners to encourage independent learning and active participation at home.
The ARAL tutors also organized documentation files, finalized narrative reports, and collaborated with fellow tutors through brainstorming and collaborative expertise sessions. These activities allowed the sharing of ideas, teaching strategies, and experiences to further improve learner engagement and program implementation.
Preparations for the upcoming ARAL Fun Day were likewise conducted as part of efforts to make the program more interactive and meaningful for learners.
The successful conduct of the home-based work and learning activities reflected the dedication of the ARAL teacher-volunteers in ensuring that learning continues beyond the classroom. Their continuous efforts support the goals of the ARAL Summer and Remediation Program in promoting quality education and learner development.

In the ARAL Reading sessions, learners answered activities from the ARAL booklet and practiced reading phonemes with syllables to improve pronunciation, decoding, and reading fluency.
Meanwhile, ARAL Math learners engaged in activities involving math practices, counting, and addition of two-digit numbers. The lessons aimed to enhance learnersโ understanding of basic mathematical concepts and improve their problem-solving abilities.
Teacher-volunteers guided the learners throughout the activities by providing instructions, monitoring participation, and assisting those who needed additional support. Their efforts helped create a positive and supportive learning environment that encouraged active participation among learners.
One learner expressed appreciation for the program by saying, โNagpasalamat ko kay naay ARAL Program, ug nakabalo ko unsaon pag pronounce sa mga words.โ The statement reflected the positive impact of the intervention activities on the learnersโ reading development and confidence.

Tacunan National High School successfully conducted the second day of the ARAL Summer and Remediation Program on May 7, 2026, as learners continued to participate in meaningful and engaging learning activities under the guidance of teacher-volunteers.
For the ARAL Math sessions for Senior High School learners, the lessons focused on math language, visualizing word problems, and place value. Teacher-volunteers guided the learners in understanding mathematical terms and strategies that can help improve problem-solving skills and comprehension in Mathematics.
Meanwhile, learners under ARAL Reading participated in different activities based on their reading levels. Readers answered the ARAL booklet activities to strengthen their comprehension and reading skills, while non-readers were guided through phonics and read-aloud sessions to improve pronunciation, sound recognition, and reading fluency.
The teacher-volunteers continued to serve as tutors and facilitators, while others prepared instructional materials and documented the activities to ensure smooth implementation of the program.
Learners expressed positive feedback regarding their experiences during the second day of the program. Some of the students shared: โNakatuon mi sa ARAL Reading,โ โHappy ko today kay makakat-on na sa ARAL labaw na sa pagbasa,โ โNa-refresh ang previous topic during elementary and JHS,โ and โMakatuon sa Math.โ
These responses reflected the learnersโ appreciation toward the activities and lessons provided during the program.
Snacks for the learners were sponsored and donated by Mr. Arnold P. Aperocho, whose generosity brought joy and support to the participating learners throughout the activity.
The successful conduct of Day 2 shows the commitment of Tacunan National High School in supporting learners through intervention programs that promote continuous learning, skill development, and academic improvement.
