The Foundation for Liberal Politics in the Philippines. The Official Page of FNF PH He resolutely backed the idea of civic education.

The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF) is the Foundation for liberal politics. Established in 1958 by Theodor Heuss, the first president of the Federal Republic of Germany, it promotes individual freedom and liberalism. The Foundation follows the ideals of the protestant theologian, Friedrich Naumann. At the beginning of the last century, Naumann was a leading German liberal thinker and politician. Naumann believed that a functioning democracy needs politically informed and educated citizens. According to him, civic education is a prerequisite for political participation and thus for democracy. In this regard, the Foundation is an agent of organized liberalism. It promotes this through civic education, international political dialogues, and political counselling. The Foundation has numerous offices in Europe, Africa, America and Asia. It also enjoys close links with Germany’s Free Democratic Party (FDP) and Liberal International (LI). While the Foundation’s activities in the field of civic education consist of seminars, conferences and publications aimed at promoting liberal values and principles, the international political dialogue program provides a discussion forum for a wide range of liberal issues. The Foundation’s counselling programs focus on candidates for political office, liberal political parties and other democratic organizations.

Identifying the problem and embracing the process of finding solutions! 🌱

The Commission on Human Rights (CHR), together with the Friedrich Naumann Foundation Philippines (FNF Philippines), conducted the second leg of Kapihan at Kumustahan at the University of the Philippines Los Baños in Laguna, titled “Kapihan at Kumustahan: Bridging Agricultural Education, Youth Agripreneurship, and the Right to Food in CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, and Bicol.”

The forum brought together students and civil society organizations to share their experiences, insights, and knowledge on agricultural education and agripreneurship. Through meaningful discussions, participants explored the challenges in the agricultural sector and identified opportunities to help address them.

FNF Philippines is grateful to be part of this initiative. We believe that food security concerns everyone. Through conversations like these, we hope to encourage more youth to share their ideas, understand the challenges in agriculture, and take part in finding solutions.

Because food security is not just an agricultural concern, it is a fundamental human right.

Bahanggunihan Lakeshore Training: Community-Led Policy Gap Analysis and Intensive Write-Shop

On October 9–10, Community Organizers Multiversity (COM), in partnership with Friedrich Naumann Foundation Philippines (FNF Ph), held the second phase of the Bahanggunihan Lakeshore Training on Advocacy Action Agenda in Quezon City.

Building on the initial community assessment, lakeshore leaders and members of people’s organizations around Laguna de Bay identified policy gaps and drafted policy paper recommendations to address their communities’ needs.

FNF Philippines is grateful to support COM in advancing community-led policy advocacy and ensuring communities have a voice in shaping the policies that affect their lives.

Friedrich Naumann Foundation Philippines attended the celebration of 115th National Day of Taiwan.

During the celebration, Amb. Wallace Minn-Gan Chow, Taiwan’s representative in the Philippines, emphasized the friendship and partnership between Taiwan and the Philippines. He also raised concerns about the increasing tensions in the Taiwan Strait and the West Philippine Sea, highlighting that cooperation is indeed important in maintaining peace and stability across regions.

He also shared figures on the growing number of tourists and workers, the continued expansion of people-to-people exchanges, and the increasing importance of technological supply chains.

FNF Philippines is grateful to TECO for the invitation and looking forward to more meaningful partnerships and cooperation.
