2CMO Battalion Strengthens Disaster Preparedness Through Earthquake Drill

TANAY, Rizal — Personnel of the 2nd Civil-Military Operations (Taga-aktas) Battalion participated in the Simultaneous Earthquake Drill to strengthen disaster preparedness and enhance emergency response capabilities.

During the exercise, personnel performed the “Duck, Cover and Hold” procedure, a standard safety measure designed to minimize injuries and protect individuals during an earthquake.

The drill aimed to enhance individual and collective readiness, reinforce proper emergency procedures, and promote awareness of appropriate safety measures during seismic events.

The activity is part of the battalion’s continuing efforts to ensure that its personnel are prepared to respond effectively to emergencies and natural disasters.

The Battalion remains committed to supporting government initiatives that promote disaster resilience, public safety and community preparedness.

The National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) challenges the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) to confront the 99 reported civilian killings attributed to the New People's Army (NPA), instead of dismissing the government's appeal for a United Nations investigation as gossip.
The death toll has risen from 98 to 99 with the addition of Junard Mansalon, 42, of Sitio Namutang, Barangay Makilignit, Isabela, Negros Occidental, who was reportedly killed on October 16, 2026, by the Leonardo Panaligan Command-New People's Army (LPC-NPA). His death is the latest case included in NTF-ELCAC's documentation of alleged NPA spy-tagging killings.
The NDFP's October 20 statement is long on accusations but conspicuously short on answers to the most damning evidence: the NPA's own public admissions that it has executed Filipinos under the pretext of revolutionary justice.

JTF Kapitbisig-Southern Luzon Honors 2CMOBn Personnel

TANAY, Rizal — Lt. Col. Jeoffrey G. Braganza, commanding officer of the 2nd Civil-Military Operations Battalion, Civil-Military Operations Regiment, Philippine Army, and other battalion personnel received the Meritorious Achievement Medal during the first anniversary celebration of Joint Task Force Kapitbisig-Southern Luzon.

The ceremony was held at Bulwagang Banahaw, Camp Guillermo Nakar, under the theme “Kapitbisig sa Pagkakaisa: Strengthening Partnership, Sustaining Peace, Securing Communities.”

Usec. Danilo G. Pamonag, executive director of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) National Secretariat, presented the medals in recognition of the recipients’ dedication to duty and meritorious service.

The recognition highlights the recipients’ contributions to civil-military operations and efforts to strengthen partnerships among government agencies, security forces and local communities in support of peace and security.

The anniversary celebration also underscored the importance of interagency cooperation and community engagement in sustaining peace and promoting safe and resilient communities across Southern Luzon.

HIGHLIGHTS | 76TH INFANTRY (VICTRIX) BATTALION, NAKIISA SA SERBISYO CARAVAN AT LOCALIZED PEACE ENGAGEMENT SA ABRA DE ILOG
MAMBURAO, Occidental Mindoro — Nakiisa ang 76th Infantry (Victrix) Battalion, Philippine Army, sa isinagawang Localized Peace Engagement and Serbisyo Caravan na pinangunahan ng Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU), katuwang ang Lokal na Pamahalaan ng Abra de Ilog at iba’t ibang ahensiya ng pamahalaan.
Isinagawa ang aktibidad sa Sitio Pakil at Sitio Banabaan, Barangay Cabacao; Sitio Kapihan, Barangay San Vicente; at Sitio Latag, Barangay Udalo, Abra de Ilog, upang mailapit ang mga pangunahing serbisyo ng pamahalaan sa mga residente ng malalayong komunidad.
Kabilang sa mga lumahok na ahensiya ang Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Philippine National Police (PNP), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), Department of Health (DOH), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Municipal Health Office (MHO), at iba pang kinauukulang tanggapan ng Lokal na Pamahalaan.
Bukod sa paghahatid ng mga serbisyong panlipunan, nagsilbi rin ang aktibidad bilang pagkakataon upang mapalawak ang kaalaman ng mga mamamayan tungkol sa mga programa ng pamahalaan at mapalakas ang kanilang kakayahang kumilatis sa mapanlinlang na impormasyon at propaganda na iniuugnay sa Communist Terrorist Groups (CTGs).

Nearly 1,200 students and teachers of Marinig National High School participated in the Community Information Awareness and Approach Program (CIAAP) conducted by the 202nd Infantry (Unifier) Brigade, through Joint Task Unit Ugnay, in Barangay Marinig, Cabuyao City, Laguna on Monday, October 19.
The activity helped students better understand the Philippines' maritime rights in the West Philippine Sea, recognize deceptive recruitment tactics, and develop a more informed perspective on national issues. Students also shared original poems about the West Philippine Sea, while teachers expressed their commitment through a Pledge of Unity.
By bringing these discussions into schools, the Army and its education partners encourage young Filipinos to think critically, stay informed, and understand their role as responsible citizens.
