The Philippine Statistics Authority ( ), through the Community‑Based Monitoring System ( ), generates vital community‑level data that supports fire safety and emergency preparedness. Using the CBMS Barangay Profile Questionnaire, local governments can map the locations of fire stations, substations, assess road accessibility, and identify vulnerable groups within communities. These insights enable local governments to pinpoint high‑risk areas, allocate fire protection resources more effectively, and strengthen emergency response systems.
In observance of this March, we highlight how data from the CBMS help build safer, more resilient communities.
