With a history dating back centuries, the Palo Metropolitan Cathedral has witnessed significant chapters in Leyte’s history, including the hardships of World War II. During Super Typhoon Yolanda in 2013, the historic church once again became a place of refuge for many affected by the devastating storm. Today, it continues to stand as a symbol of faith, hope, and the enduring spirit of the people of Leyte.

Day 2 at the 37th Philippine Travel Mart was another day filled with meaningful connections, engaging conversations, and exciting opportunities to showcase the best of Eastern Visayas.

A highlight of today’s activities was the Eastern Visayas Regional Product Presentation, where we shared the region’s distinctive tourism offerings, experiences, and destinations with travel industry partners and visitors—inviting them to discover more to love in Eastern Visayas.

Our tourism stakeholders also continued to engage with travelers, tour operators, and industry partners, strengthening connections and creating opportunities to promote the region as a must-visit destination.

From product presentations to face-to-face engagements, Day 2 was all about putting Eastern Visayas on the map and inspiring more travelers to experience our region’s Infinite Escapes.
