The students engaged in a lively discussion with Ambassador Constance See, exploring Philippine-Singapore cooperation, the work of the Embassy, and what it means to be advancing Singapore’s national interests on the international stage.
During their visit to the Philippines, the delegation also had separate engagements with the UERM Medical Center, the University of the Philippines-Philippine General Hospital, and various local NGOs, learning about the Philippines’ programmes and policies on healthcare, gender equality, and women and child protection, in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The students also had the opportunity to travel to Rizal and Batangas for additional community engagement activities.

Celebrating 57 years of Singapore-Philippines diplomatic relations 🇸🇬🇵🇭
Singapore and the Philippines mark 57 years of diplomatic relations on 16 May, a partnership that has expanded in depth, substance, and ambition.
The Philippines’ ASEAN Chairmanship this year has given fresh momentum to bilateral ties, with high-level engagements and closer coordination on regional priorities. At a time of growing geopolitical and economic uncertainty, our two countries share a common interest in a cohesive, resilient, and forward-looking ASEAN.
Over the past five months, Singapore and the Philippines have translated friendship into concrete cooperation through several key agreements:
📌 Implementation Agreement on carbon credits collaboration under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement
📌 MOU on Bilateral Consultation
📌 MOU on cooperation in the field of social sector development
📌 MOU between the Philippine Department of Health and the National University of Singapore
These are practical partnerships with real-world impact, spanning sustainability, healthcare, institutional cooperation, and capacity-building.
Singapore looks forward to working closely with the Philippines during its ASEAN Chairmanship year and to deepening cooperation in areas that benefit our peoples and the region.

Students from the National University of Singapore’s Sheares Hall are in the Philippines under the Southeast Asia Friendship Initiative (SFI), an exchange programme focused on sustainability, innovation and enterprise.
Ambassador Constance See joined Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto for a dialogue with the students at Pasig City’s Innovation for Circular Economy (ICE) Hub. The robust discussions ranged from sustainability and circular economy solutions to how effective policymaking must be inclusive and community-driven.
At the Philippines’ first Circular Economy Hub, students saw firsthand how waste materials can be processed and repurposed within a circular economy framework. The delegation also visited the Bayo Foundation’s HARVEST Creative Community Hub, where factory scraps and old uniforms are given new life through creative upcycling and craftsmanship, while supporting local livelihoods.
Thank you to our hosts and organisers for the insightful discussions and warm hospitality.

Delighted to witness the formation of a new partnership between Department of Health (Philippines) (DOH) and NUS Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health (NUS SSHSPH) this week.
On 6 May 2026, DOH Secretary Dr Teodoro Herbosa and NUS SSHSPH Dean Prof Teo Yik Ying signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), laying the foundation for meaningful collaboration in public health research, policy and capacity building, to improve health systems and population health. A month ago, NUS SSHSPH also launched its Philippines Partnership Programme, to advance research and capacity development to tackle challenges affecting population health and well-being in the Philippines.
These milestones reinforce the robust healthcare ties between Singapore and the Philippines, with collaboration spanning every level from government to academic institutions to businesses. We look forward to seeing this new partnership drive transformative policies and public health excellence in the region! 🇸🇬🇵🇭
