As co-chairs of the Media Freedom Coalition, 🇫🇮 Finland and 🇬🇧 the United Kingdom believe that media literacy is more than an educational issue. In an era of disinformation, AI-generated content and online scams, it is also a matter of democratic resilience and national security. Empowering people to think critically, verify information and navigate the digital world safely helps strengthen societies and protect democratic debate.

During Media Literacy Week, we are sharing experiences from Finland and the UK, where media literacy is promoted as a lifelong skill across schools, communities, public institutions and civil society. As MFC co-chairs, we look forward to continuing our cooperation with partners in the 🇵🇭 Philippines to support media freedom, strengthen information resilience and foster an informed and engaged public.

Embassy driver is responsible for the day-to-day driving duties, upkeep and maintenance of the Embassy’s official vehicles and other related tasks. The role also includes administrative and office support duties.

The candidate is expected to have at least 6 years of professional driving experience, preferably with an embassy, diplomatic mission, international organization or other foreign employer.

We 🇫🇮🇸🇪🇺🇦 were delighted to spend time in Naga City, Bicol. Our meeting with Mayor Leni Robredo offered an insightful discussion on local governance, public service, and the role of cities in responding to both community needs and broader global challenges. We appreciated the warm reception and the open conversation on leadership, democratic participation, and citizen engagement.

We also met with the Naga City People’s Council and local political leaders, and we were impressed by the strong culture of cooperation between citizens, civil society, and local government that has become a hallmark of Naga City. In addition we gained a better understanding of priority areas of work in another part of the region at the meeting with Atty. Sheina Onrubia, Provincial Board member of First District of Albay and Arnold Collantes Dela Cruz, City Councilor of Tabaco City.

One of the most enjoyable parts of the visit was the opportunity to meet students at the Ateneo de Naga University. We had an engaging discussion on the foreign policy priorities of our respective students' thoughtful questions and perspectives made for a truly memorable exchange.

We also had time to experience some of Naga’s cultural life, including visits to Savage Mind: Arts, Books, Cinema and the NHCP Museo ni Jesse Robredo. These spaces offered a wonderful glimpse into the city's creativity, history, and civic spirit, and were a perfect way to round off our visit to Bicol.

Finally but not least, we enjoyed the astonishing views of Mount Mayon, historic site Cagsawa Ruins and tasting local food Bicol express, laing and pinangat.

During , we celebrate Nordic innovation in space. Through collaboration across Denmark, Sweden, Finland, and Norway, the Nordic region is advancing cutting-edge technologies, strengthening research partnerships, and driving innovation across the space sector.

From Sweden’s world-class launch and testing capabilities at Esrange, to Finland’s leadership in Earth observation and Norway’s expertise in satellite infrastructure, Nordic actors are helping shape the future of space. Together, through initiatives such as Space Nordic, led by Denmark, the region is building stronger connections between industry, academia, and government while increasing its presence on the global space stage.

A great day for learning, sharing and working together! 🤝

Nordic consular colleagues from Denmark 🇩🇰, Finland 🇫🇮, Iceland 🇮🇸, Norway 🇳🇴, and Sweden 🇸🇪 recently came together for the annual emergency workshop, spearheaded by the Finnish Embassy in Manila this year.

The workshop was a valuable opportunity to exchange experiences, deepen connections, strengthen cooperation around disaster preparedness and crisis management, and put teamwork into practice through hands-on emergency response exercises.

Special thanks to the Head of Taguig City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) Dr. Luis M. Sy, Jr., as well as to Dr. Kristoffer Nosa, Mr. Mark Jason Silao, Mr. Arnazier Garcia, and the rest of the Taguig CDRRMO members for their key presentations and expert guidance during the simulation drills.

And last but definitely not the least, a huge thank you to everyone who took part and made the day a huge success! 💙
