🇦🇺 Ambassador Miles Armitage was honoured to host an investiture ceremony for Dr Sarah Hill AM at the Australian Embassy in Riyadh.

Appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in the 2026 Australia Day Honours by the Governor-General of Australia, Sarah Hill was recognised for her significant service to public administration, urban planning and public policy across a distinguished career that has helped shape Greater Sydney and beyond.

Currently serving as CEO of a company, her work and contribution to the field have been recognised internationally and continue to shape communities across the world — including in Saudi Arabia, where her work is contributing significantly to Vision 2030. 🇦🇺🇸🇦

It was a pleasure hosting the inaugural Sports Ambassadors Network Australia, initiated by sports journalist and broadcaster traceyleeholmes.

The network connects Australian sports professionals worldwide with their local partners — “mates” — to share expertise and strengthen collaboration.

Sport plays a powerful role in Australian society, and for so many Australians to now not only witness but actively contribute to Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 sports transformation — alongside a growing calendar of major international events — is both remarkable and a true pleasure.

Australians are active across almost every level of the sports industry in the Kingdom — from grassroots development to elite performance, strategy and event delivery.

Coming together in one room, united by a shared purpose and passion, is a powerful reminder that sport isn’t just played on the pitch — it’s built through people, partnerships, and ideas.
