In 1956, Switzerland and Saudi Arabia officially established diplomatic relations 🇨🇭🇸🇦
The formal mutual agreement between our two sovereign states to engage in official, structured, and peaceful communication enabled our two countries to manage their interests through authorized diplomatic representatives. This agreement has grown into 70 years of trust, dialogue and shared ambition — across diplomacy, economy and culture.

ذلك الاتفاق السيادي المتبادل، القائم على التواصل الرسمي والمنظّم والسلمي، أرسى جسور الحوار بين البلدين عبر ممثليهما الدبلوماسيين، ومهّد لمسيرة امتدت على مدى 70 عاماً من الثقة والتفاهم والطموح المشترك، عبر الدبلوماسية والاقتصاد والثقافة.

On the occasion of the 70 years jubilee of diplomatic relations between Switzerland and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the President of the Swiss Confederation, Guy Parmelin, undertook an official visit to the Kingdom.

In 1932, Switzerland 🇨🇭 was among the countries visited by Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud during his historic European tour.
At a time when the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 was newly unified, this visit reflected an openness to dialogue and engagement with international partners.
For Switzerland, it marked an early moment of connection — contributing to a relationship that would later evolve into formal diplomatic ties and long-term cooperation.
