From 1 January 2027, qualified Security Supervisors (SS) and above will be able to lead Category 2 road deployments — a responsibility previously held exclusively by Auxiliary Police Officers.

To qualify, officers will need to:
Be at SS grade or above under the Security PWM
Complete the WSQ Crowd and Traffic Control Management (Advanced Traffic Control Management)
Clock 40 hours of OJT on a Category 2 road

Skills For Security Competition Asia is back for its 2nd Edition in Asia!

Temasek Polytechnic’s Security Industry Institute, in partnership with Skills for Security UK, proudly presents Skills for Security Competition Asia — happening live at The Security Event Asia, 10–12 November 2026 in Singapore.

This year, it features a different competition component, promising an even more exciting and challenging experience for participants.

The Integrated Security Systems Challenge:

Three Days. Eighteen Technicians. One Challenge.
Six technicians per day will go head-to-head in dedicated booths, tackling fault-finding, installing, integrating and commissioning of a Security System - all against the clock.

A meaningful industry learning experience for our SCTP Security Operations students!

We would like to thank Singapore Pools in the Community for hosting our students from Temasek Polytechnic’s Security Industry Institute (TP-SII) and giving them the opportunity to gain valuable insights into how security, technology, operational integrity and customer safety come together in a real-world environment.

The visit provided our students with an opportunity to learn beyond the classroom, engage with industry professionals, exchange perspectives and better understand the role of security in supporting day-to-day operations.

We sincerely appreciate the team at Singapore Pools for their time, hospitality and willingness to share their knowledge and experiences with our students. This was certainly a memorable and enriching experience for our SCTP Security Operations cohort!

Over the last weekend, the Security Industry Institute (SII) successfully conducted its inaugural intake for the Advanced Traffic Control Management (ATCM) module.

As the first intake of its kind in Singapore, this marks an important milestone for SII as we continue to support the security industry through relevant training and upskilling opportunities.

The ATCM module equips security officers with the knowledge and skills to take on more complex traffic control duties, preparing them for the evolving demands of the security industry.
