Victoria is Something More
Lead | Serve | Excel This is what sets us apart in the educational landscape of Singapore.

The Victoria Junior College name is synonymous with a culture of excellence and innovation in both work and play. While Victorians boast of strong academic standings and possess rigorous intellectual habits, they are also challenged to go beyond the everyday and pursue what their hearts desire. We value the diversity that is every young person and believe that there is nothing more important than helping them find their passion and purpose, however defined. Victorians then go out, ready to change the world in creative and meaningful ways. Thinkers, dreamers and doers - here at Victoria Junior College, you can be all of them.

🌏 How does a small state like Singapore navigate an increasingly complex world?

Last week, our JC1 students had the opportunity to engage in an insightful dialogue with Mr Laurence Bay, Director-General of the Southeast Asia I Directorate at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Drawing on his extensive diplomatic experience, Mr Bay shared his perspectives on the challenges Singapore faces and the importance of maintaining strong working relationships with our neighbours in the region and beyond. The session encouraged our Victorians to consider their part in shaping Singapore’s future as informed and engaged global citizens. Thank you, Mr Bay, for taking the time to share your valuable insights and experiences with us! 🙏

A day to celebrate the people who make our school community what it is! 💛

Our Staff Day was filled with good food, laughter and lots of appreciation. From a thoughtful lunch catered by our wonderful PSG to a special celebration organised by our SWC, we were reminded of just how much care goes into making our staff feel valued.

Here’s to the teachers and staff who show up, support one another, and give their best every day. Thank you for all that you do! 🌟

Happy Staff Day! 🥰📚✨

Congratulations to our Victorians who’ve been awarded scholarships for their undergraduate and postgraduate studies! 🎓✨

Behind every one of these is years of hard work, curiosity, and just quietly putting in the work, the kind of effort that doesn’t always show, but always counts. To our scholars - congratulations, and here’s to all that’s still ahead! 💛♥️

Huge congrats to Marc Loh, recipient of the Singapore Police Force (SPF) Book Prize! 🚓🏆

The SPF Book Prize honours academic excellence and strong co-curricular achievements and comes with a rare bonus: opportunity to get a glimpse into the exciting world of policing through enriching experiential programmes. The SPF Book Prize is awarded to just 20 students annually, and presented to second-year JC, Year 6 IB and Year 3 Polytechnic students.

The moment was made extra special with DSP Nigel Lim, a VJ alumnus from class 10S3C and now an officer with the SPF himself, presenting the Prize. From Victorian to protector of our nation, DSP Nigel is proof that the values VJ instils only grow stronger with time. 🫡

Congratulations, Marc, continue walking the beat towards a future of service and impact! ♥️💛

The NS engagement @ VJC on 17 Aug saw VJC hosting the 1st Commando Battalion for an action-packed morning! 💪

As part of the the SAF-Schools Partnership Programme, Victorians got a taste of what National Service and Army life can be like — from flipping tyres and testing their strength, trying out sniper stations at the Tree House, tasting army food rations, putting on camouflage, to navigating a Built-Up Area (BUA) mock-up. Every station brought a different glimpse into the experiences, challenges and camaraderie that come with life in the Army.

From classroom to field, our students got to learn by doing, challenge themselves, and experience a little of what it means to serve. 🇸🇬

A big thank you to the 1st Commando Battalion for spending the morning with us and giving our students an unforgettable NS experience!

Big congrats to Trudy Suresh Jia Xin of 25S33 — our newest SAF Young Leader Award (SYLA) recipient! ✨🏆
The SYLA recognises students who bring together academic excellence, strong leadership through their CCAs, and a real passion for defence-related issues. 🔥
Extra special: the award was presented by Major Goh Si Ying, VJ alumna from 13S63 and recipient of the SAF Merit Scholarship, now serving with the Air Force. Si Ying is proof that the leadership VJ builds doesn’t stop at graduation, it just keeps flying. ✈️
Congratulations, Trudy, show them what Victorians are made of. ♥️💛

We were honoured to host Ms Grace Fu, Minister for Sustainability and the Environment for a meaningful dialogue with our JC2 students.

Students shared their perspectives on how Singapore could address the impacts of climate change, from the role that young people can play in shaping climate policies to the challenges of fostering collective action.

Thank you, Ms Fu, for engaging our students in this thought-provoking conversation and for inspiring them to think critically about the positive action they can take in preparing to navigate Singapore through impending climatic and environmental challenges for a sustainable future!

On 5 August, Victorians had the opportunity to look ahead at EdVantage Fair 2026, our annual higher education, careers and scholarship fair. 🌟

With representatives from Institutes of Higher Learning, Ministries, Statutory Boards and other partner organisations gathered across our Hall and Library, students explored the many future pathways available, asking questions, discovering opportunities and gaining valuable insights into further education, careers and scholarships.

We were very thankful to our awesome alumni who also returned to share their experiences through ECG talks, offering Victorians a glimpse into different journeys beyond college. 💬

We hope EdVantage Fair 2026 has inspired our Victorians to think about their aspirations, explore possibilities with confidence, and take meaningful steps towards shaping their own futures. 🚀

To our Alumni: if today stirred a little nostalgia, or you're keen to be part of that same guidance for Victorians coming up behind you, VJConnects is where that journey continues. 💛❤️ Explore how you can share your experiences and support the next generation. Link in bio! 🔗
