UNSOS strengthens operational coordination among AUSSOM, SNAF and UNGU forces through interoperability training | United Nations Peace Operations Mogadishu, 21 May 2026 – Twenty personnel from the African Union Support and Stabilisation Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM), the Somali National Armed Forces (SNAF), and the United Nations Guard Unit

Acting ASG and Head of United Nations Support Office in Somalia - UNSOS, Qurat ul-Ain Sadozai, paid a courtesy call on the newly appointed Director General of the Somali Immigration and Citizenship Agency, Mr. Hussein Qasim Idow and congratulated him on his appointment.

The meeting reaffirmed the strong cooperation between ICA, the Federal Republic of Somalia and in support of operations in .

3️⃣7️⃣ African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia-AUSSOM 🇪🇹🇩🇯 troops & Somali National Army (SNA) 🇸🇴personnel participated in Human Rights Due Diligence Policy sensitization sessions conducted by the UNSOS Risk Management & Compliance (HRDDP) team from 13–20 May.

⚖️ Discussions focused on implementation of mitigation measures, compliance, and respect for international human rights, humanitarian, and refugee law as a prerequisite for UN support.

🤝 This UNSOS initiative contributes to strengthening the responsible implementation of UN-supported operations in Somalia.
