Nonprofit early childhood education center with programs for Infants, Toddlers, and Preschool.

ITC: Who We Are
The Infant Toddler Children's Center (ITC) was founded in 1981 as one of the first programs in the area designed specifically for infant and toddler care. Since then, this nonprofit organization has expanded to include programs for preschool and school-age children. At ITC, we respect children as unique individuals who are curious and competent learners. Our approach to curriculum is influenced by Jean Piaget, Lev Vygotsky, Howard Gardner, Magda Gerber, Frances and David Hawkins, and the Reggio Emilia Schools in Italy.

The preschool groups celebrated Halloween in a variety of ways. Preschool A made chocolate chip pancakes, made potions in the sensory table, and cut open a pumpkin to see what was inside. Preschool B also cut open a pumpkin and explored the insides. Preschool C made Halloween collages, had a PJ and movie day, and made masks. Preschool D celebrated with a PJ and movie day and orange and black day. Everyone is very excited for the big day tomorrow!

The Infant and Toddler groups celebrated Halloween with laidback pajama days, festive art invitations, pumpkin explorations, and child-made special snacks. The surrounding neighborhood is adorned with "spooky" decorations, making it a perfect time for a community stroll.

For Toddler III, going to "the meadow" is one of their favorite destinations! What makes these walks even more special? Bringing their favorite butterfly wings, capes, and crowns, of course.

PSC had a fun visit with the Acton Fire Department today!

The PSC group enjoyed a visit with members of the Acton Fire Department today. The children got to see the firefighters gear and tools on the fire truck. They also went inside the fire truck and ambulance and got their own fire helmets! These visits strengthen the children's connection to the community and inspire a lot of creative play!

Did you know ITC first opened its doors at St. Matthew’s as "the only act in town" for infant and toddler care? What began over four decades ago as a pioneering vision by our co-founders, Faith and Leslie, has blossomed into a multi-generational community that continues to nurture lifelong bonds.

Next weekend, that full circle comes alive at our ITC Homecoming!

We are thrilled to welcome back our founders, former educators, alumni families, and even parents of children from our very first infant class (one of whom is now leading a pediatric ICU!).

Will we see you there?

👉 RSVP and share your favorite ITC memory!

We were delighted to officially welcome Katie Lin Giraldi to ITC as our new Assistant Director! Thank you to all the families and children who stopped by the Meet-and-Greet to make Katie feel right at home.

With nearly 20 years in early childhood education, Katie brings a deep respect for children, educators, and families, and a passion for building strong connections across our community. We're thrilled she's here and thankful for the relationships and legacy she'll help us grow.
