On Friday, April 17th, Deputy Lentini and Deputy Dunn proudly represented the Lehigh County Sheriff’s Office at the Roberto Clemente Charter High School career fair. Students in grades 9 through 12 had the opportunity to speak with us, ask questions, and learn more about careers in law enforcement. It’s always a great day connecting with the next generation!

Sheriff Hanna stopped by MALV this morning to wish members of the Congregation a joyous Eid-al-Fitz, the marking of the end of the month-long Ramadan 2026.
The Lehigh County Sheriff’s Office assisted Whitehall Police with traffic control during the event.

Sheriff Hanna had the opportunity to return to his alma mater, Ritter Elementary School to be a part of Read Across America for the month of March. He got to read to the 2nd grade class and answer many questions about the role of the Sheriff. Ritter Elementary School is celebrating their 100th year of educating our children in the Allentown School District.

Sheriff Hanna had the pleasure of attending the Iftar (“breaking of the fast”) dinner at the Muslim Association of the Lehigh Valley. The event was attended by approximately 275 people including PA. Governor Josh Shapiro.
The Sheriff was privileged to say a few words and was presented with a surprise gift…a Golf hat…by his dear friend Nagi Latefa.

On Tuesday, March 10th, Sheriff Hanna had the honor of welcoming local Cub Scouts to the Government Center for a special flag-raising ceremony.

As part of the Boy Scout council’s initiative, the American flag will be raised with all sixty-seven county sheriff’s offices in honor of America’s upcoming 250th anniversary. It was a great opportunity to celebrate patriotism, community service, and the next generation of leaders.

On Friday, March 6th, Captain Gray attended a concealed carry seminar hosted by Representative Zackary Mako. Speakers included District Attorney Gavin Holihan, PSP and Northampton County Sheriff’s Department. Speakers addressed the process for obtaining a License to Carry and the relevant laws related to carrying fi****ms concealed and self-defense.

On March 4th, Captain Gonzalez had the opportunity to visit Mrs. Young’s 2nd grade class at Harry S. Truman Elementary for Read Across America!

The theme was Career Day, and Captain Gonzalez shared what we do at the Sheriff’s Office and talked about her responsibilities as a Captain. The students asked great questions and enjoyed learning about law enforcement and how we serve our community.

Thank you to Mrs. Young and her class for the warm welcome and for letting us be part of such a fun day!

Lehigh County Sheriff's Office Sheriff Joe Hanna is pleased to announce the promotion of Deputy Michael Manfredo to Sergeant in the Field Operations Division.

Sgt. Manfredo attended Allentown Business School in 1999. He graduated from the Allentown Police Academy in 2001 and began his law enforcement career with the Bethlehem Police Department.

After 21 years of dedicated service, Sgt. Manfredo retired from the Bethlehem Police Department and joined the Lehigh County Sheriff’s Office. He has served in the Field Operations Division since September 2022.
