Last week, volunteers in Anchorage joined The Salvation Army and Alaska National Guard to wrap gifts for the 70th year of ! This cherished tradition allows children in remote Alaskan communities to receive Christmas gifts they might not otherwise have access to.

This year, our Anchorage Corps wrapped gifts for Nanwalek and Wales, our Fairbanks Corps wrapped gifts for Rampart and Stevens Village, and our Juneau Corps wrapped gifts for Angoon. Santa will be delivering the gifts in the coming weeks as he gears up for a busy Christmas season!

We are grateful for our volunteers, the Alaska National Guard, donors who provided the toys, and Santa Claus for coming together to make this happen year after year.

It may only be October, but Santa Claus is always working to ensure children everywhere get Christmas gifts.

Last week, The Salvation Army joined forces with the Alaska National Guard to kick off the 70th year of Operation Santa Claus. Volunteers came together in Anchorage to wrap gifts for children in Nanwalek and Wales, which will be delivered in the coming weeks.

Operation Santa will also be wrapping and delivering gifts for Rampart, Stevens Village, and Angoon this year, with the help of volunteers in Fairbanks and Juneau.

We are grateful for the Alaska National Guard, the donated toys, our volunteers, and Santa Claus for working together to continue this cherished tradition.

Operation Santa Claus will be visiting five Alaskan communities this year ➡️ https://tinyurl.com/yetsnn4t

In 1957, S/Captain Luther Smith carried the “Walkie Coffee,” a backpack dispenser for coffee, water, or soup used during wartime and disaster relief. ☕

This early mobile supply symbolizes the Army’s readiness to serve both body and soul. ❤️
