We are a dedicated team of volunteers and board members who support the work of the Wekiva River Basin state parks. The Wekiva Wilderness Trust, is the non-profit Citizens Support Organization that supports the work of the three state parks that make up the Wekiva River Basin Parks - Wekiwa Springs, Lower Wekiva and Rock Springs. As the nation approaches its 250th anniversary, Florida State Parks will offer free admission on Memorial Day weekend, May 23-25, inviting visitors to enjoy the outdoors while honoring those who gave their lives in service to the United States.
Across Florida, state parks protect some of the nation’s most iconic natural and historic places. From crystal-clear springs and beaches to trails, rivers and historic landmarks, these resources offer meaningful ways to connect with the history and natural beauty that define our state.
Especially on Memorial Day weekend, consider celebrating America’s 250th anniversary by visiting a historic state park near you. You may be surprised by what you find in...the Real Florida.
‼️ IMPORTANT: For those parks employing day-use reservations, like Wekiwa Springs State Park, reservations are still required during this time and will result in no charge to the visitor upon check out.

Please note: Free admission applies to day-use only and excludes Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park, Skyway Fishing Pier State Park, Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park and Weeki Wachee Springs State Park. All other fees, including overnight accommodations, special events, concessions and rentals from park vendors, will remain in effect.

We'd LOVE to get a donation of your images for use in social media, for end-of-year recaps, on our website, and more.

Our non-profit organization relies on our community! Having a database of copyright-released images and videos “at the ready” that inspire others to visit, conserve, participate, and volunteer ensures even MORE people to take part in our activities, take hikes, kayak along our River, swim in our springs and, in general, celebrate all that our parks provide day in, and day out.
