The drive is very popular, so plan for at least 2 hours. The Drive, which opened in May 2015, is open Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and most federal holidays (will be posted here). In emergencies where Law enforcement is needed, call the Fish and Wildlife Commission at 888-404-FWCC (3922). For all other matters call the District's Bureau of Land Resources (formerly land management) at 386-329-4404 M

Anhingas are so interesting. This is a male and sometimes called a piano bird since the feathers on the wing look like piano keys.

Throwing it back to one of the regulars checking in. This Red-shouldered Hawk was perched right on top of the power line, blending in with the pole like it was part of it—giving that look like, “you really stopped posting pics of me and my crew?” 🦅
Sometimes they don’t have to move at all… the presence alone says everything. A reminder that consistency gets noticed—even in the wild.
