After the successful installation of the 36" valve, the intersection of 6th Street NE and West Peachtree Street NW is expected to reopen to vehicular traffic tomorrow, June 2, 2026. As part of the City's water distribution maintenance program, this valve replacement will improve system reliability and resilience.

Last week, DWM received reports about a significant fish kill incident along the Chattahoochee River. After conducting an initial river survey, DWM deployed two crews to assess the affected areas and collect water quality samples.

The investigation remains ongoing. However, we are actively working with our environmental partners, Chattahoochee Riverkeeper and Georgia EPD, to determine the root cause of the fish kill and protect the public health of the Chattahoochee River. Additional updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
