💙💛 Believe in the Possible: Jordan’s Story
When Lynn and Tanner learned their first baby would have Down syndrome, they weren't sure what the future would look like. After Jordan was born, their journey included time in the NICU, surgery, feeding challenges, and a feeding tube.
But through it all, they found something incredibly special: a community that helped them believe in the possible.
RMDSA connected with the family before and after Jordan's birth, but it was at our annual baby shower that everything really changed.
“RMDSA was one of the first groups that said congratulations with genuine excitement and love,” Lynn shared.
For the first time, Lynn and Tanner were surrounded by other families who understood their experiences. They met other babies with Down syndrome, connected with parents, and began to see what their own family's future could look like.
“We realized there was a community. Without RMDSA, it would have been a lot lonelier.”
That connection grew into lasting friendships through our West Metro Moms group, and today, Lynn is helping create that same experience for other families. 💕
At this year's RMDSA Baby Shower, Lynn volunteered alongside Jordan, now 2½, and his little sister, Marilyn May. As Jordan ran around "helping," he was giving new parents something that words alone can't always provide: a glimpse of what's possible.
“It’s not just, ‘Everything’s going to be great, guys,’” Lynn said. “You can actually start to imagine where you can be soon.”
💙 This is what it means to Believe in the Possible.
It's about celebrating a new baby, connecting families who understand one another, and helping parents see a future filled with opportunities, friendships, and joy.
At RMDSA, we believe every family deserves that kind of welcome and every child deserves a community that believes in their possibilities.
💛 Together, we can help more families Believe in the Possible.
