Hyland Lake Park offers 1000+ acres of breathtaking landscapes and a major body of water as well as a large play area, the Richardson Nature Center, Hyland Hills Ski Area, an 18-hole disc golf course and a three-hole disc golf practice area. Repairs on the paved trails at Bush Lake Park are scheduled to begin the last week of April. This work will occur in two phases. Phase 1 will run late April through early May and will address cracks, root damage, and other uneven surfaces. Sections of the trail system will temporarily close while work is being done but will be reopened as soon as surfaces are once again safe for foot and bike traffic. Trail users are advised to use caution and pay attention to all construction signs.

Phase 2 follows these repairs and will occur in June and July with two Monday – Thursday closures of trail sections to allow Three Rivers Park District contractors to perform resurfacing work as part of their routine maintenance program. This project is intended to improve overall ride quality and extend the life of the pavement.

Congratulations to all of this year's Distinguished Volunteer Service Award recipients, including our very own Mike Kennedy!

Mike has been a volunteer since 2019. He is a Park Patrol volunteer at Hyland Park Reserve, on regional trails, and at District events. He also helps with adapted recreation programs with Outdoor Recreation School.

Mike’s professionalism, kindness and commitment make him an invaluable volunteer. He has volunteered 911 hours for Three Rivers. Join us congratulating Mike as a recipient of the Distinguished Volunteer Service Award and in thanking him for all his work in the parks!

With the arrival of spring weather, the ski season has officially come to a close at Hyland Lake Park Reserve. Building hours are now 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. and ski rentals are no longer available.
