We're counting down the short 7 days until Woodmont Fall Fest on Saturday, November 7, from 1–7 PM! With live music, food, activities for the kids, Paint the Blocks, and plenty of opportunities to catch up with neighbors, it's shaping up to be a fantastic afternoon!
Paint the Blocks can be pre-chased at our merchandise store!

But Fall Fest isn't just about celebrating another great year at Woodmont. It's also about celebrating our community and the exciting things happening beyond the pool! One of the things we are most excited about is the Friends of Woodmont Park! woodmontfriends.org
Friends of Woodmont Park is a newly formed, volunteer-led nonprofit organization created in response to popular demand to improve and beautify the wooden areas, trails, and recreational areas surrounding the pool. This is a common wish of our members for years. WRA heard your request and created this wonderful organization to make those improvements a reality.
If you've noticed some changes around the property lately, you're not imagining things! Thanks to the hard work of neighborhood volunteers, overgrown areas are being cleared, walking trails are being improved, and previously underutilized spaces are beginning to get some much-needed attention.
How is Friends of Woodmont Park Different from WRA?
Friends of Woodmont Park is an independent organization working in partnership with WRA to improve the property and create more opportunities for our neighborhood to enjoy it. While WRA remains responsible for operating and maintaining the pool and recreational facilities, Friends of Woodmont Park is focused on enhancing the surrounding green spaces and hard surfaces that are owned by WRA through volunteer efforts, community involvement, and fundraising. WRA will retain ownership of the property at all times.
What new Opportunities does FWP offer to our Community?
Friends of Woodmont Park has formed as a Virginia nonprofit corporation and has just achieved 501(c)(3) charitable organization status. This designation will allow the organization to pursue additional fundraising opportunities that are not available to WRA, including tax-deductible donations, grants, and corporate charitable giving programs. FWP can access these resources to improve the portions of the property typically accessible by anyone within our community while allowing WRA membership dues to remain focused on the summer pool program and clubhouse.
What does that mean for WRA members and our neighbors?
It means additional opportunities to fund neighborhood improvements on the WRA grounds without relying solely on WRA membership dues! Through volunteer efforts and charitable contributions, Friends of Woodmont Park hopes to continue improving trails, clearing invasive vegetation, beautifying the property, and exploring ways to bring new life to some of our underutilized recreational spaces. These efforts will help make Woodmont more attractive, accessible, and enjoyable for the entire neighborhood without requiring additional financial resources from the WRA.
When can I meet some of the founding members?
We're excited that Friends of Woodmont Park will have a table at Fall Fest! Stop by to meet the neighbors behind this effort, hear about the work they've already accomplished, learn about their vision for the property, and find out how you can get involved.
Whether you're interested in volunteering, contributing to future projects, or simply curious about what's happening in the woods behind the pool, they'd love to meet you!

Extension of our Mission
We've said it before, and we'll say it again: Woodmont isn't just a summertime pool destination location — it's a year round community!
The WRA Board is grateful to the neighbors who have taken the initiative to establish Friends of Woodmont Park and to everyone who has already volunteered their time and energy to improve our shared spaces.
We're excited to see what we can accomplish together and look forward to celebrating this new partnership with everyone at Fall Fest!
Please come for the music, stay for the fun, meet some great neighbors, and see what the future holds for Woodmont and all our FRIENDS!
