UMBPD In the Community - Pictured here, UMB Police Officer Dairell Martinez chatting with a person.

Officer Martinez, assigned to the 3T (3pm-11pm) Shift was conducting a building check in Wheatley Hall around 10:00pm. There he ran into a person who is well acquainted with the department. The individual had previous interactions with our police officers as they frequently stayed in Wheatley hall due to experiencingย housing insecurity.

Ofc. Martinez shared a couple laughs with the person and both parted ways a short time later.

We want to remind our community members that the Police Department is available 24/7 and that there are resources available to everyone, some of which are tagged below.

Spreading joy this Christmas with our dear friend Buddy, a cherished member of our community who calls us every day (multiple times per day). We invited him to the police station for a heartwarming surprise - a new hat with a light for safer night bike rides, some treats, and pictures of some unforgettable moments with our amazing police officers. His excitement lit up the room, reminding us of the power of connection and kindness. ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ
