Though you may have gotten an extra hour of sleep last night, sometimes sleep just isn't enough to shake that exhausted feeling so many of us struggle with. Burnout and fatigue are especially common in our line of work. That is why we have a wellness program for our staff. We encourage them all to combat that feeling of exhaustion with the below tips and tricks. If you are still feeling tired, even after gaining an extra hour of sleep, try these for yourself!
Reestablish Healthy Routines
Gradually return to consistent sleep and wake times to help your body adjust to busier schedules. A well-rested mind is more productive and resilient.
Stay Hydrated
Keep a water bottle nearby and aim to stay hydrated throughout the workday.
Plan Ahead
Take a few minutes each evening to prepare for the next day. Packing lunches, choosing outfits, or reviewing your schedule can help reduce morning stress.
Fuel Your Body
Busy days can make it tempting to skip meals or grab quick snacks. Keep healthy options on hand, such as fresh fruit, yogurt, nuts, or whole grain snacks to maintain your energy.
Make Time for Movement
Even 10 to 15 minutes of walking, stretching, or light exercise can improve your mood, reduce stress, and increase energy.
Get connected
Social connections can have a positive influence on your overall mental well-being.
Give Yourself Grace
Transitions can feel overwhelming. Remember that it’s okay if everything doesn’t go perfectly. Celebrate small accomplishments and be kind to yourself as you adjust.
