Meet James!

James is a 1-year-old Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix weighing just 32 pounds. He's the perfect smaller-sized companion for someone looking for an active, affectionate dog with a whole lot of personality!

James is a friendly, happy boy who loves people and enjoys making new friends. He's also social with other dogs and does well with cats. He enjoys going for walks and spending time with his people, and with his young age and active nature, he'd love a family that can include him in their daily adventures.

A securely fenced yard would be a huge plus for this boy, giving him room to run, play, and show off his signature zoomies!

Meet Big Betsy!

If there's one thing you should know about Betsy, it's that she's always smiling! And with those crooked little teeth, she's got a smile that's hard to forget.

Betsy is an approximately 8-year-old Chihuahua mix weighing 36 pounds. She was shaved by the Good Samaritan who found her before coming to the shelter, and she's now looking for a family to call her own.

This girl is as sweet as they come. She loves being loved on and is happy to soak up attention from her people. She's also dog-friendly, did well with the clinic cat at the vet, and keeps a clean kennel for the most part.

Betsy does have some weight to lose, so she'll need a family willing to help her continue that journey with a healthy diet and routine. She's counting on her future people to help her feel her best!

Yesterday we had 3 dogs picked up by animal control. Do you recognize these babies?

Female German Shepherd found off of SR 58 just outside of Freetown, caller states she has been running the area for a while. She is timid but sweet.

Male mixed breed possibly heeler/aussie mix- found off of Woodland Dr- Oxmoor Estate area. No microchip. Sweet as can be.

Owners have been located!!

Does this sweet girl look familiar to anyone? She was found at the intersection of 100 W and 450 N. She seems to have been groomed recently; she is covered in burrs from her adventure!

We are BEYOND thrilled to announce that our two longest residents, Maggie and Bart, have been placed in a foster-to-adopt home TOGETHER!!

These two came into our shelter together in December 2025, believed to be siblings. Since then, they’ve waited patiently, watching other dogs come and go while they continued to hope their turn would come.

And now, just shy of a YEAR later, their story is finally moving in a new direction. After everything they’ve been through, we couldn’t be happier that they have the chance to experience life outside the shelter while staying by each other’s side.

Foster-to-adopt is the first step, and we are keeping our fingers crossed that this is the beginning of their happily ever after.

Maggie and Bart, we hope your days ahead are filled with soft beds, full bellies, endless love, and all the comforts you’ve waited so patiently for.

Thank you to their family for opening your home and giving these two a chance.
