Child Care Alert! VOTE!!!
We’re just a few days from Election Day! I hope that you’ve made a plan to vote or have already voted early, absentee or by mail.
Child care is top of mind for many voters right now. Millions across the country are voting for a child care system that works for ALL parents and providers.

We’re preparing for more terrible Trump-Vance administration rules undermining the Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF). In the next few weeks, we’re expecting the Trump-Vance administration to unveil one or more rules that could hurt families and providers, including a proposal to redirect Child Care Development Fund (CCDF) spending toward married, stay-at-home parents discriminating against low-income working families and single parents who are already struggling to afford child care. It’s important to push back against this cynical attempt to pit the needs of stay-at-home parents against working parents. We encourage state child care organizations to post statements and social media that makes clear: every kind of family deserves support and access to child care.
Yet Another Attack on Child Care from the Trump-Vance Administration Coming Soon
As many of you know, any day we are expecting a new CCDF proposed rule that would be devastating for our child care community. While we don’t know for sure what the rule might include, we expect it to:
Block Immigrant Families From Accessing Child Care: Earlier this year, the New York Times reported that the Trump administration was considering a plan to “disqualify American children from receiving child care subsidies if one or more of their parents are not U.S. citizens.”
Discriminate Against Single Parents and Working Families: Last month, the Times also reported a Vance-led plan to divert federal child care subsidy funding to stay-at-home parents who are married.
Roll Back Child Care Health and Safety Requirements: The Trump Administration has long threatened “a bonfire of regulations,” which could put kids and families at risk.
Free, universal child care means a better future for all kids—and our country. Together, we can build a child care system that works for everyone....
