Here's what happened at the latest CTUB RegularBoard Meeting.

📄 CTUB approved its engineering agreement for the Summit Point Regional Utility Corridor and will begin work on Phase 1.

💧 CTUB is about a month away from completion of a multi-year collection system.

🌳 To cut down on backups in the Huntfield area, CTUB is considering a foaming root treatment in partnership with the HOA and the Charles Town City Tree Board.

Here's what happened at the latest CTUB Special Board Meeting.

📄 CTUB received legal counsel regarding the issuance of a stormwater permit and is in the process of preparing a formal public transparency and utility development review process.

🏫 CTUB is requesting a revised scope and schedule and clarification on the proposal to extending the utility corridor to South Jefferson Elementary School.

💧 A pumping station will need to be installed to complete the Potomac Metals site connection after a gravity line had to be abandoned.

CTUB would like to thank Jefferson County residents for their participation and input on ongoing projects in our community. Your perspective is crucial. Here’s what you may have missed at the latest CTUB Board meeting:

📄 In response to public comments, the board intends to file a new, complete application for the Sidewinder raw water line and will request the maximum public comment period.

🕑 CTUB is reviewing how it handles Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests as part of a broader push for more timely transparency and engagement.

🏭 CTUB is updating its Supervisory Control & Acquisition Data (SCADA) systems at the Tuscawilla Wastewater Treatment Plant.

🔧 The engineering firm working on the Summit Point corridor has delivered a proposal for a preliminary engineering report, for extending water and wastewater services to South Jefferson Elementary School

✅ CTUB staff responded quickly and effectively to an equipment failure at the Charles Town wastewater plant, ensuring that treatment and permit compliance were not interrupted.

🏠 The board approved water and sewer mainline extension agreements for Augustine Manor

NOTICE OF CANCELLATION OF SPECIAL MEETING

The September 14, 2026 Special Meeting has been canceled.
Board discussion of the WVDEP Permit for Sidewinder Enterprises, scheduled for consideration at the Special Meeting, will
instead be placed on the agenda for the Utility Board’s Regular Meeting on Wednesday, September 23, 2026.

The Utility Board recognizes the significant level of community interest in this matter and welcomes public participation. Based on the attendance and interest expressed in recent meetings, CTUB is making arrangements to accommodate a larger number of in-person attendees for the 9/23 meeting. Additional information regarding the meeting location, public attendance, virtual participation, and opportunities to provide public comment will be provided with the meeting notice and agenda.

Rescheduling consideration of this matter will provide additional time to make appropriate arrangements for public access and participation, while allowing the Board and Staff to address the matter during a regularly scheduled public meeting.

After accounting for Board Members, our County Commission Liaison, and Staff necessary to conduct the meeting, the Meeting Chamber can accommodate up to ten (10) members of the public. In-person public attendance will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis, up to the maximum available capacity of the Meeting Chamber.
