Today, the Cherryville Fire Department’s C-Shift had the pleasure of visiting Cherryville High School to educate students on fire extinguishers and their proper use!

Students learned about the different types of fire extinguishers, when to use them, and had the opportunity to see a hands-on practical demonstration! 🧯

We appreciate Cherryville High School for allowing us to share valuable fire safety knowledge with our future leaders!

🔥 Fire Safety Starts with Education! 🚒

The Cherryville Fire Department has had the pleasure of visiting Cherryville Elementary School and several preschools throughout our community to share important fire safety messages with our youngest citizens!

During these visits, our firefighters talked with students about fire prevention, what to do in the event of a fire, and simple steps they can take to help keep themselves and their families safe at home.

Fire safety education is an important part of what we do. Teaching these lessons at an early age not only helps keep our children safe, but also encourages them to take those messages home and share them with their families.

We greatly appreciate our local schools and preschools for welcoming us and allowing our firefighters the opportunity to spend time with their students. We always enjoy seeing the excitement on their faces when the fire trucks arrive!

Today, members of the Cherryville Fire Department participated in a live fire training exercise designed to strengthen our skills and ensure we are prepared when the real call comes in.

This hands-on training gave our entire staff the opportunity to conduct fire suppression operations in a controlled environment that is as close to a real structure fire as possible.

We would like to extend a special thank you to the Crouse Fire Department, Tryonota Fire Department, and Gaston College Fire Training staff for their assistance in making today’s training possible.

We would also like to thank the Waco Community Volunteer Fire Department for moving up to our station and providing coverage for our response area. Their assistance allowed all of our members to participate in today’s training while ensuring our community remained protected.

🚑 CONGRATULATIONS, DRIVER ENGINEER CALEB SMITH! 🚒

The Cherryville Fire Department would like to congratulate Driver Engineer Caleb Smith on successfully completing and passing his Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) class!

Becoming an EMT is no small accomplishment. It requires countless hours of classroom instruction, hands-on training, studying, testing, and dedication—all while continuing to fulfill the responsibilities of serving our community.

This achievement is another important step in Caleb’s professional development and strengthens the level of service we are able to provide to the citizens of Cherryville. Firefighters today are called upon to respond to much more than fires, and strong emergency medical training is an essential part of providing the best possible care when our community needs us most.

Caleb, congratulations on a job well done! Your hard work and commitment have paid off, and we are proud to have you as part of the Cherryville Fire Department!

🚒🔥 Congratulations, Driver Engineer Smith! 🚑
