The Cook County Department of Emergency Management and Regional Security, Chicago Office of Emergency Management and Communications, Illinois Emergency Management Agency–Office of Homeland Security, and participating public-safety partners will bring together preparedness professionals, public resources, and community organizations for a day focused on emergency readiness and resilience on Tuesday, September 15, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Daley Plaza, 50 W. We are excited to announce Ray Giderof, Executive Director of the Public Building Commission of Chicago, will be joining us as a guest speaker at the HACIA Scholarship & Education Foundation Fundraiser on Wednesday, September 16, at the Obama Presidential Center.

A former HACIASEF Scholarship recipient and graduate of the University of Illinois Chicago School of Architecture, Executive Director Giderof has more than two decades of experience at the Public Building Commission of Chicago. A recognized leader in capital planning and public infrastructure, he remains focused on expanding access, creating inclusive opportunities, and advancing economic development throughout the region.

We are grateful to Executive Director Giderof for sharing how receiving the HACIASEF scholarship has influenced his career and professional journey.

Since the foundation’s inception, more than $1 million in scholarships have been awarded to help students pursue their education and build careers in construction, architecture, and engineering.
