Free nematode sampling saves farmers money.

In 2025, researchers collected 526 soil samples and 69 root samples free of charge to SC corn and soybean farmers.

Those samples were then analyzed and identified in the lab to provide field-specific management recommendations based on results.

We estimate that this service saved about $12K for farmers last year alone.

With support from the corn and soybean boards, Clemson will be offering this service again in 2026.

In 2025, soybean researchers measured how effective Liberty Ultra herbicides were in dicamba-tolerant soybeans and identified best management practices for maximizing its effectiveness under South Carolina growing conditions.

Read their findings on the blog:

Liberty Ultra represents a newer glufosinate formulation designed to improve w**d control and application flexibility. This project evaluates how Liberty Ultra performs within dicamba-tolerant systems and how it can be best positioned for maximum effectiveness.

As we celebrate the Fourth of July and honor America's 250 years of history, we're especially grateful for the generations of farmers who have helped feed, fuel, and strengthen our nation.

Thank you to South Carolina's corn and soybean growers for your hard work, dedication, and commitment to keeping American agriculture strong.
