⏰ We all know that we have to change our clocks when Daylight Saving Time rolls around, but when was the last time you checked your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors?

As the clocks roll back this weekend, take an extra two minutes to test your alarms and replace the batteries as needed. This simple step can make a big difference in keeping you and your loved ones safe in an emergency.

👏 Congratulations to two of our newly sworn firefighters!

🧑‍🚒 Kyle Buhman
🧑‍🚒 James Allee

The Davenport Fire Department and Chief VanderWiere had the opportunity to introduce the two newest firefighters to the City Council and the community during a swearing-in ceremony. The firefighters started with the City in July, attending an eight-week in-house training program, achieving various State certifications, and gaining the experience needed to be assigned to a 24-hour shift.
Since the academy, they have worked as crew members on a fire company performing the day-to-day activities of a firefighter.

We wish them a safe and enjoyable career with the Davenport Fire Department!
