Congratulations to ELIJA Farm in Dix Hills on the ribbon cutting of their new Learning and Engagement Center!

It was wonderful to join the ELIJA Farm community in celebrating this exciting milestone and the continued growth of an organization dedicated to providing meaningful educational, vocational and community opportunities for individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities, led by their founder and visionary Deb Thivierge. The new center was built with funding provided by a Suffolk County Economic Development JumpSMART grant.

I am always happy to support the important work of ELIJA Farm, including through annual grant funding for their Fall Festival, which will be taking place this weekend! Congratulations again to everyone at ELIJA Farm, and thank you for all you do for our community!

Thank you to the Deer Park Public Library for hosting and all of our neighbors who came out to another successful “Legislator at Your Library” event! It was great meeting and talking with so many of you, providing notary services and Senior ID cards and sharing information on available County resources. A special thank you to the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office for joining me and providing free Senior Medical ID photo cards and having a Shed the Meds safe disposal box. Hope to see you at the next one!

Yesterday, I joined my fellow elected officials in marching in the annual Long Island Columbus Day Parade, led by the Town of Babylon and the Order Sons & Daughters of Italy in America, Grand Lodge of New York.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this wonderful celebration possible and to all who came out to enjoy the festivities!

Last night, the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office premiered the commemorative documentary “Their Service, Our Legacy: The Storied History of the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office.”

The film highlights the history, service and dedication of the Sheriff’s Office and the men and women who have helped shape its legacy over generations. Thank you to Sheriff Errol Toulon and the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office for preserving and sharing this important piece of Suffolk County history!
