For the 12th year in a row, DTE did not pay a dime in federal taxes. Zero. This is in spite of raking in over $1.5 billion in profits. And they have the audacity to ask for ANOTHER $500 million rate hike, while receiving hundreds of millions of dollars in tax cuts over the last decade and providing some of the worst and most expensive service in the country.
I'm not taking a dime of their money because im running a campaign fueled by Detroiters for Detroiters. That means fighting for lower energy rates, opposing corporate handouts and tax breaks for billionaire data centers, making corporate polluters clean up their messes, and getting real investments in clean energy like community solar that will create good union jobs to boot.
