Service to the Adams Street neighborhood was first provided in 1875 through a delivery station on Walnut Street. The present branch library building was opened in 1951, and represented the first new neighborhood facility built in 20 years. Thank you to everyone who supported the Friends of the Adams Street Library book sale and at the library today!
The friends were able to fill a few local little libraries in the neighborhood too!

Summer Reading at the Boston Public Library is BACK!

โ˜€๏ธ Pick up a bingo card at your local BPL location and complete fun prompts and challenges between June 1 and August 31, 2026!

๐Ÿ“– Participants may visit any BPL location to receive an exclusive BPL Summer Reading tote bag, while supplies last!

๐Ÿ“– Once you complete bingo, you may visit any BPL location to receive a Summer Reading sticker, while supplies last.

๐Ÿ“– This year, participants can choose a bingo card designed specifically for children, teens, or adults. Adults who want an extra challenge can choose the Read More card instead of the classic Adult bingo card.
