It’s not a Girls on the Run Long Island 5K without our Power Hour stations. Before our GOTR girls took on 3.1 miles, they made sure they sparkled! With Bling Your Bib, Face Painting and Happy Hair, our runners let their girl power shine.

Up next, the 5K!

Can you believe the big day is just hours away? Remember to check the weather, review directions, and queue up a fun car-ride playlist!

Make sure your girl gets a good night’s sleep and a nourishing dinner to fuel her from start to finish. A little preparation goes a long way! We look forward to seeing your girls’ smiling faces in the morning!

As we prepare for our Girls on the Run Long Island 5K in just a few days, we want to take this time to thank our National Girls on the Run 5K Partners.

All across the country GOTR girls, coaches, their Running Buddies and families are coming together to celebrate another incredible season and cross those finish lines at their happy paces. It's because of the support we receive from our partners that we can keep making our 5K events bigger and better than ever.

A huge Super Star thank you to:

Our Girls on the Run Long Island 5K is coming up this Saturday, and WE NEED VOLUNTEERS!

Whether you're a high school student looking for community service credit or just want to roll up your sleeves and pitch in, you're welcome to join us and make our 5K an incredible event to remember.

We have several opportunities to volunteer on May 30 at Eisenhower Park:
* Set up and clean up
* Help with registration/bib pick up
* Direct 5K registrants where to go upon arrival
* Help with Power Hour Stations (colored hair spray/temporary tattoos/face paint)
* Give out water at water stations
* Hand out food after the finish line

If you're interested in volunteering with us Saturday morning, please fill out our volunteer form found on our 5K page at gotrlongisland.org/5K. Let us know what you'd be interested in doing.
