In collaboration with the Escondido Police Department and out of an abundance of caution, Pioneer Elementary, Farr Elementary, and Mission Middle School were placed on a Secure Campus due to a mountain lion sighting in the nearby community. All students and staff remained safely inside while EPD and Fish and Game responded. The Secure Campus was lifted shortly before 4:00 p.m. for Farr and Pioneer, and Mission is scheduled to be released at 4:00 p.m.

We extend our sincere thanks to our staff, students, and families for their cooperation and patience, and to law enforcement and our community partners for their swift response and support. The safety of our school community remains our top priority.
